They stressed in their speeches that caring for Egyptians abroad is based on a comprehensive national vision that combines protecting labor rights, expanding investment and urban opportunities, and linking Egyptian communities to the path of sustainable development.

An integrated system to protect Egyptian workers abroad

In his speech, Minister Mohamed Gibran reviewed the institutional efforts to protect Egyptian workers abroad, explaining that the Ministry and its foreign offices succeeded during the period from April 2024 to June 2025 in providing more than 76 thousand job opportunities, and approving about 36 thousand contracts after reviewing their validity. He also pointed out the recovery of more than one billion and 388 million pounds of Egyptian workers’ entitlements, through dispute settlement and social security pensions, which reflects the development of state policies from individual services to building an integrated economic and social safety network.

To enhance the quality of national labor in global markets, the minister indicated that the state focused on developing the vocational training system and raising the efficiency of the Egyptian worker to meet the needs of foreign labor markets. The inauguration of the “Pre-Departure Guidance Unit” in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration came as a practical step to provide Egyptian workers with cultural, linguistic and informational support before travel, on a path that reflects investment in people as a key tool for achieving sustainable development and expanding the base of national competencies.

Minister Muhammad Gibran explained that the Ministry worked to build organized migration paths by signing bilateral agreements with major countries and developing modern governance mechanisms. The electronic link project with Jordan was completed, and the experiment is being expanded with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Lebanon, in a way that enhances the transparency of labor transfer and protects their rights.

The role of labor representation offices in countries with a dense Egyptian labor population has also been activated. To become an integrated institutional platform that directly links workers to the state, ensuring the protection of their rights and providing technical and legal support channels. In his speech, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, explained that developing the transport sector and industrial infrastructure opens new horizons for investments by Egyptians abroad, stressing that the state is working to make Egypt a regional center for transport and logistics through modernizing infrastructure and localizing industrial technology.

He pointed out that these plans open horizons for integrating the experiences of Egyptian communities in the transportation and supply chain sectors in a way that contributes to providing quality job opportunities and supports the national economy within the framework of an integrated vision that links the industrial dimension with labor and housing policies. So that the participation of Egyptians abroad becomes an important axis for building an economy capable of achieving long-term development.

For his part, Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, explained that the ministry’s initiatives directed at Egyptian communities abroad, most notably “Beit Al-Watan” and “Your Home in Egypt,” work to strengthen national ties and attract dollar transfers that support the stability of the real estate market. He announced the launch of the second phase of the “Your Home in Egypt” initiative in September 2025; To provide about 3,000 units within 19 projects in 12 new cities.

Minister El-Sherbiny pointed out that urban development in Egypt depends on a sustainable planning vision that combines the creation of smart cities and the revival of heritage areas, providing various investment opportunities for Egyptians at home and abroad.
