To identify these honorable role models, as the magazine seeks to inspire all women, support their empowerment, and highlight their role in achieving sustainable development. The heroine of this article is “Walaa Al-Husseini”.
Walaa Al-Husseini is the Executive Director of the Global Compact NetworkUnited Nationsin Egypt, and has more than 20 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors, with a focus on corporate governance, regulatory affairs and development.And Sustainability.
She has extensive experience in establishing state-ownedcorporate governance mechanisms, as well as large family businesses, private sector groups, and non-profit organizations; Moreover, she held several advisory positions for local and regional entities, where she was responsible for managing all activities related to research and marketing for emerging Egyptian and foreign companies, in addition to her participation in developingEgypt Vision 2030.
.
In 2005, she became chief advisor to the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, responsible for promoting investment in Egypt. In her capacity as the first advisor, she was a national point of contact for the Egyptian government with international organizations. She also held the position of advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Financial Affairs (EFSA); She contributed to the preparatory work for a number of laws related to investment, in addition to being a consultant for international cooperation.
On the academic side, Al-Husseini obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Economics and Political Science – specializing in economics, and is currently completing a Master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Northampton.
