The future of industrialization in Africa: visions and plans for achieving industrial development Comprehensive

The importance of industry and its role in economic growth within African countries is increasing, with efforts being made to advance the industrialization profile on the continent and introduce new technologies and industries whose role is to provide job opportunities and achieve high growth rates. Which contributes to protecting the independence of countries and reducing their exposure to external economic shocks.

As part of these efforts, the African continent celebrates African Industrialization Day on November 20, as the continent prepares for a full week in which it reviews its industrial vision and goals that are consistent with the 2063 Agenda. In order to advance industry in Africa.

Industrial Renaissance in Agenda 2063

TheAgenda 2063comes as a result of efforts to drive growth in the industrialization file in Africa. It is a strategy for social and economic transformation in the continent over the next 50 years, and its vision is to create an integrated and prosperous continent, under the slogan “Unity, Shared Prosperity and Peace.”

النهضة الصناعية في أجندة 2063

Its framework includes 18 goals; The most important of them are:

  • Increasing contribution to local manufacturing.
  • Absorption of the new workforce.
  • Processing agricultural products locally.
  • Enhancing technology-based manufacturing.
  • Integrating Africa into global value chains.
  • And creating strong African companies continentally and globally.

In the context of searching for ways to finance the 2063 Agenda concerned with the industrialization file in Africa, the members of the African Union agreed that it is necessary to ensure sufficient and available sources of financing. For member states to rely on, in order to avoid repeating the usual scenarios of stopping and delaying previous continental agendas due to the lack of sufficient funding.

Therefore, Africa’s Agenda 2063 is based on a strategic plan to reform the system of financing continental and regional plans, which includes several axes, including: not relying on external grants as a sole source of financing, stopping the low estimate of the continent’s capabilities with the help of its people, putting an end to capital flows coming from illegal means, and diversifying the continent’s sources and resources.
