With more than 28 years of experience working in various high-profile financial institutions, Abeer Saleh began her honorable journey by co-founding the Commercial International Life Insurance Company (CIL) in 1998, a company that started strong in conjunction with the Commercial International Bank (CIB), and has remained one of the strongest and most productive bancassurance institutions in Egypt.
In early 2013, Abeer joinedCommercial International Bank –CIBEgypt and rose to various positions, the last of which was Head of the Deposits and Investment Sector. and insurance. She also represented the Commercial International Bank on the Board of Directors of the Commercial International Life Insurance Company (CIL), during the period from 2013 to 2015, as well as a member of the Audit Committee.
After spending more than two decades in the insurance and banking fields, Abeer decided to leverage her experience to help startups and fintech institutions build their models and navigate their way to profitability, so she joined as an independent board member of Udawi. She was also selected in December 2020 to serve as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority due to her experience in this field.
In 2021, the Financial Supervisory Authority approved the appointment of Abeer Saleh as managing director of “Al-Wafa Life Insurance” in Egypt, thus undertaking a new challenge in launching the company in the local market.
In 2022, Abeer Helmy Saleh began a new challenge by assuming the task of establishing a large insurance entity in Egypt, where she moved to Misr Holding Group – the largest non-banking financial group in Egypt as a managing director, to undertake the task of establishing Misr Takaful Insurance Company – Hayat, in partnership with the National Bank of Egypt and Banque Misr.
Her highlights included her election to the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Insurance Federation, making her the first woman to hold this position. On the academic side, she holds a bachelor’s degree in economics fromThe American University in Cairo, in addition to a diploma in marketing and integrated communications from the same university.
