The Standards and Quality Authority participates in the “Edutech Egypt” exhibition to support the development of technical education
Technical education in Egypt is going through a phase of gradual transformation in its philosophy and role. It has become one of the main tools for preparing cadres capable of actually engaging in the production process. With the acceleration of economic and technological changes, there has become an urgent need to develop technical education beyond the theoretical framework, to rely more on applied skills that are in line with the requirements of the labor market, especially the industrial sector.
In light of this trend, the link betweenTechnical Educationand the needs of industry has become of great necessity as it is a decisive factor in supporting economic growth and achieving sustainable development. The more education outcomes are compatible with the requirements of productive sectors, the greater the country’s ability to build a strong industrial base, capable of competing and enhancing the efficiency of resource use, in a way that supports achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the long term.
International Forum for Technological Technical Education
In this context, the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality, headed by Dr. Khaled Sofi, participates in the activities of the fifth session of the International Forum for Technical Technical Education, Technical Training and the Labor Market “Edutech Egypt 2026”, under the slogan “Create your future.”
In order to complete its ongoing efforts to support the state’s plans to build an industrial future based on knowledge and innovation in a way that supports the achievement of comprehensive sustainable development, Goal (16) Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, Goal (8) Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal (9) Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
Dr. Khaled Sofi, Chairman of the Egyptian General Organization for Standardization and Quality and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), confirmed that “Edutech 2026” represents a high-level international platform for exchanging experiences, as it is held in partnership with a number of major international and national institutions in support of achieving quality education that focuses on the applied and technological skills necessary for the labor market, which contributes to transferring the best international practices and applying them to the development of technical education and vocational training in Egypt.
Building an artificial intelligence system
He also pointed out that this year’s edition is titled: “From Dialogue to Implementation: Building a System for Artificial Intelligence, Skills, and Global Mobility,” in a step that highlights the transition from the discussion stage to actual application, which gives the Authority’s participation in this event special importance, as it contributes its expertise to supporting the development of future skills.
Especially in the areas of green economy and renewable energy, in addition to keeping pace with the requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which enhances its role as a strategic partner in the process of developing modern and advanced technical education, with the Authority confirming its continued support of all national initiatives aimed at preparing a generation capable of innovation, production and competition, in keeping with the aspirations of the new republic towards a more prosperous and sustainable future.
The forum is held under the sponsorship and in the presence of an elite group of ministries and stakeholders, including the Ministries of Education, Technical Education, Higher Education, Scientific Research and Industry, along with technological universities and technical education experts, in a scene that reflects the integration of national efforts to implement a comprehensive vision aimed at reforming and developing technical education and linking it directly to the needs of economic development and future plans.
Integrating artificial intelligence into technical education
The forum also discusses ways to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into the technical education system, through developing specialized curricula, qualifying teachers, and modernizing the digital infrastructure, as well as supporting the use of smart learning platforms and artificial intelligence applications in practical training within the framework of supporting the country’s directions towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The sessions also address developing the skills of technical education teachers, through training programs based on immersion in the industrial work environment, training in digital teaching methods, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in the educational process, in addition to developing stimulating professional paths to attract competencies from the industrial sector to the teaching profession.
In conclusion, the development of technical education has become a fundamental pillar for reshaping the structure of the national economy, through building an integrated system linking skill, production and applied knowledge at the International Forum for Technical Education, Technical Training, and the Labor Market “Edutech Egypt 2026”. The trend towards integrating modern technology, especially artificial intelligence, in addition to the focus on the green economy, reflects a conscious transition towards a more efficient and sustainable development model.
