The celebration was filled with love and in appreciation of the efforts of its predecessors since the establishment of the Institute of Environmental Studies and Research in the 1980s until it became the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research. For this reason, the college honored the partners of its success at the environmental and development levels, and among them were: “Earth Guards” magazine, where Dr. Reham Farouk, “Chairman of the Board of Directors ofMagazine” received theShieldPartnership; In appreciation of its efforts in preserving the environment and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The college also honored “Secretary General of the Arab Union for Sustainable Development and Environment,” Dr. Ashraf Mansour, and Dr. Mohamed Moussa, “President of the Electricity Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Authority,” in addition to honoring former deans and full-time professors, the most prominent of whom are: Professor Dr. Abdel Masih Semaan, “professor of environment and former college dean.” The college also honored its most prominent graduates who hold master’s and doctorate degrees in specializations. In front of the lens of the “Earth Guards” magazine – in his speech on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the college – Professor Dr. Mohsen Tawfiq, “founder – and initiator of the idea – of the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research”, recounted the history of the college’s establishment, and how its establishment was compatible with the trend that prevailed in the world at that time, where reliance on the systemic thinking approach was common, an approach that saw the fragmentation of the world as a cause of crises. global; He also talked about the stages of development of the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research from the time it was an institute until it reached its fortieth year of scientific achievements.

Regarding the speech of the President’s Advisor for Health Affairs, “Earth Guards” magazine monitored his speech in which he said: “We all participated in teaching different sciences at the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research.” Emphasizing the great importance of this ancient college in supporting the health and environmental sector, this was also confirmed by the President of Ain Shams University, who saw it as a distinguished icon with an effective role in the field of interdisciplinary studies. Drawing attention to the fact that the field of work of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research is the focus of attention of the Egyptian state, in line with the global trend.

He continued, saying: “The College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research has been unique since its establishment, and has spared no effort in supporting various specializations.” Noting – the President of the University – the academic figures that make up the College Council, he appealed to its members to move quickly towards developing the College. In order to keep pace with regional and global changes, and work to increase the rate of international scientific publishing.

In the same context, Professor Dr. Ayman Saleh touched – in his speech – on the extent of the successive climate impacts throughout the world, especially in Egypt, directing the necessity of creating solutions that reduce the burdens of environmental changes, and this is through an educational environment that stimulates innovation and provides promising opportunities for future generations.

The Dean of the College reviewed the college’s work strategy, before speaking about the efforts that were made to transform the Environmental Research Institute into the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research. She also shed light on the status of the college globally, in terms of the percentage of research, pointing to the numbers of expatriates and their percentages among the college’s students, and the numbers of applied research projects and their results. Before she touched on the college’s plans for the future, she talked about scientific programs and global partnerships.

As for these programs and plans, the Dean of the College spoke about the “Global Health” program, which is a program that includes several specializations that can keep up with local and international developments, in addition to a Spanish partnership – specifically with the University of Granada – where the College established the “Center of Excellence” that specializes in the circular economy, and she also spoke about the establishment of the “Center for Chemical and Biological Safety and Security,” in addition to announcing the establishment of the College Alumni Association. .

At the end of the celebration, and before the “Earth Guards” received the shield of honor, the Dean of the College wished its students, graduates, and those in charge of further progress and a lot of prestige, so that the College – as it began – would be an ancient scientific edifice, working to qualify distinguished scientific cadres.
