“Earth Guards” is a partner with “Ain Shams University” in celebrating World Earth Day

The whole world celebrates World Earth Day on the twenty-second of April every year. To show people’s support for protecting the environment and the necessity of preserving it.

Believe in the“Earth Guards”in the importance of keeping up with this important event; took the initiative to be a partner of “Ain Shams University” in the first activities organized by the university’s Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector to celebrate World Earth Day over three consecutive days, under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. “Mahmoud Al-Matini” and a large group of university professors and scholars.

Given the importance of the role that individuals and institutions play in preserving the environment, the role of “Earth Guards” cooperation with Ain Shams University has emerged in their carrying out many activities and events that contribute to raising the level of societal responsibility towards the environment, and encourage the reduction of environmental pollution. One of the most prominent goals of this partnership is to raise environmental awareness among university students in particular, and to provide a role model in eliminating the lack of awareness of such important topics that universities in developed countries in general do not ignore. In order to achieve one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), “Education”, which contributes significantly to changing individuals’ behaviors for the better, environmentally and socially.

Earth Guards Official Sponsor of the Climate Ambassadors Training Program: Africans and Egyptians

In order to ensure its sustainable vision and its pioneering role in adopting development initiatives and sponsoring their events, “Earth Guards” magazine sponsored the training program for African and Egyptian climate ambassadors and their graduation ceremony, in partnership with Ain Shams University, headed by Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Manpower, the President of the Association of African Universities, the Consul General and Deputy Ambassador of the State of Sudan, and the representatives of the Ministers of Environment, Social Solidarity and Finance.

In his speech about Egypt’s preparations to host the Climate Summit Conference (COP27), Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini commented, saying: “The topics now revolve around green transformation and sustainability, especially after the Climate Summit Conference (COP26), and the momentum and intense interest that occurred around it. The Egyptian state is fully prepared and prepared to host the Climate Summit Conference (COP27) in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030, as He praised the efforts made and the great interest of the political leadership and concerned parties in achieving sustainability.”

He concluded his speech by expressing his happiness with the university’s achievements, especially the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, led by Professor Dr. Noha Samir Donia. Because of its great achievements in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and thanked all the attendees.

The “Earth Guards” also met with the Minister of Manpower, and began his speech by expressing his gratitude for being invited to such a large ceremony, and said: “This program is one of the results and outcomes of the political leadership’s interest in issues of sustainability and the environment; Which aims to mobilize African and Egyptian students and researchers; To build climate knowledge assets with the community and raise environmental awareness; In preparation for receiving the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Climate Change Convention (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.”

Then he continued, saying: “To achieveEgypt Vision 2030and to move Egypt towards a green and sustainable future, and to achieve justice between different generations in the distribution of natural resources; To ensure the continuation of the development process, this must be done through three dimensions: They are: the economic dimension, the social dimension, the environmental dimension, and the contribution of all parties under the umbrella of sustainable development strategies for Egypt’s Vision 2030. This sustainability will only be achieved through a strong commitment to partnerships and cooperation at the local and international levels.

He concluded his meeting with an important message: “We must first care about and rely on humans. Going green is for man and by man.”

And in conclusion.. One of the most important results of this activity is the joint cooperation between“Earth Guards”, Ain Shams University and the relevant ministries. To benefit and transfer expertise in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030; To achieve sustainable development and go green.

As part of the Egyptian state’s preparations to host the COP27 climate conference, and in fulfillment of the vision of the Egyptian leadership towards a sustainable Egypt 2030, “Earth Guards” sponsored the participation of Ain Shams University in the National Dialogue for Children, which was held at the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

This program aimsto create effective national participation on the issue of climate change; To raise awareness of sustainability and environmental issues among all segments of society.

The program began with a speech delivered by Dr. Reham Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Earth Guards”; On the importance of raising awareness of the role of young people in preserving the environment, and introducing them to sustainable development issues; To create a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
