As for the heroine of this article, she is Dr. Hala Al-Saeed “Minister of Planning and Economic Development”, whom we are honoring for the second year in a row, and we will highlight her achievements and efforts during the past year; She is the prominent Egyptian economist and academic, who obtained a doctorate from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, then became the first elected dean of the faculty in 2011, and after that she became Assistant to the President of Cairo University for Scientific Research and Foreign Relations, between 2013 and 2016.
Her academic contributions extend to include a number of research papers, studies, and reports recognized for their competence at the world level. These are scientific efforts that helped Dr. Hala Al-Saeed to research important economic topics, most notably studies on international finance, financial and banking sector reform, and economic reform. In addition, she has held prominent positions such as: Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
It is worth noting that Dr. Hala Al-Saeed received the Best Arab Minister Award in the first session of the Arab Government Excellence Award, in November of 2020, and the League of Arab States also honored her in 2023, as one of the figures who have sustainable efforts in the Arab region, in order to achieve the goals ofSustainable Development At the regional level.
On the professional level in 2023, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed had distinguished efforts, as she worked to launch the work of the second session of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects. This is an initiative that received international praise, as you helped Dr. Hala Al-Saeed develop and build the capabilities of 5,500 trainees during 56 training sessions over 152 training hours.
The efforts of Dr. Hala Al-Saeed were important in the history of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, as her efforts came within the framework of steps to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030; In order to preserve the environment, improve the quality of life, take into account the rights of future generations, and implement the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
The Minister of Planning – Dr. Hala Al-Saeed – is an Egyptian who was able to make economic theories and development studies in Egyptian universities a tangible reality, through effective planning.
