In a solemn ceremony in one of the major hotels adjacent to the great Nile of Egypt, and in the presence of an elite group of ministers, members of the House of Representatives, the business community, media professionals, and Egyptian artists and intellectuals, the launching ceremony ofHomat Al-Earth Magazine was sponsored by Dr. Nevin Al-KabbajMinister of Social Solidarity, and in the presence of Counselor Ahmed Saad El-Din, First Undersecretary of the House of Representatives, Engineer Ashraf Rashad, Deputy of the Parliamentary Majority, Dr. Mohamed Ziadeh, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of Sertin Consulting, Engineer Hossam Awadallah, Chairman of the Energy and Environment Committee, Mr. Mohamed Al-Gabalawy, Undersecretary of the Committee, Dr. Olfat Al-Mazalawi, Secretary of the Manpower Committee, Engineer Tariq Shukri, Undersecretary of the Housing Committee, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Khayyat, Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority.

The ceremony began with a documentary video of the Earth Guards magazine, and the video reviewed the magazine’s objectives, strategy, and journalistic and scientific plan.
Then was a speech by Dr. Reham Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Earth Guards Magazine, about the magazine’s objectives and strategy, followed by a speech by journalist Hanan Moj, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, about the editorial policy followed in the magazine. Her speech also included a simple explanation of the five sections of the magazine.
In his speech about green construction, Tariq Shukri, Undersecretary of the Housing Committee in the House of Representatives, said: The challenges are many; Including the issue of climate change and carbon emissions, and the construction sector and the building materials industry are considered one of the sectors that have the most impact on carbon emissions, and it is one of the least advanced sectors in the field of reducing carbon emissions, green transformation, the building system, and professional responsibility, as well as documenting green buildings.
He pointed out Egypt’s contribution to global emissions, which does not exceed 6% of the world’s total emissions.
While the most prominent thing that Dr. Mohamed Al-Khayat, Chairman of the New and Renewable Energy Authority, said in his enjoyable speech, was that Egypt advanced 9 places over the past two years on the Global Sustainable Development Index.
The journalist Tamer Amin spoke about Egypt’s soft powers and the role of media and art in raising awareness of sustainable issues through programmes, films and series, then the role of the Earth’s protectors in spreading awareness through all electronic and written means.
In his speech, journalist Tariq Allam said: The name of the Earth Guards magazine carries a very important content amid the momentum we are experiencing, calling on everyone to raise their children to love the environment, preserve it, and protect the earth.
The ceremony concluded with a speech by Dr. Nevin Al-Kabbaj, Minister of Social Solidarity, about the role of social solidarity and the participation of all Egyptians in preserving the environment and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Then she touched on the role of the Ministry of Social Solidarity and its endeavor to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030, and its implementation of many projects. Then she concluded her speech by saying: Protecting the environment and protecting the land are not brought about by one party, and here comes the role of the Earth Guards magazine with its goals to spread science and awareness. Sustainable issues, and highlighting the role of the private sector in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and protecting the Earth.
After she finished her speech, all the attendees went to the painting “We are the Earth Guards.” Let them all confirm with their fingerprints that they are truly the Earth Guards.
