Sponsored by Lieutenant General Engineer/ Kamel Al-Wazir, “Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport”; The activities of World Standards Day, organized by the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality, were launched.
This was in the presence of Dr. Khaled Sofi, “President of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality, and President of the International Organization for Standardization,” and Dr. Muhammad Zeyada, “Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the The Earth Guards Foundation,” with the participation of Dr. Jihan Bayoumi, “Deputy Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – UNIDO,” and representatives of the European Union delegation in Egypt, along with a number of officials from industrial companies and official bodies and bodies.
One of the activities of World Standards Day was the delivery of awards to companies and entities with success stories in the areas of quality and outstanding environmental performance, in addition to honoring distinguished institutions and individuals in applying quality standards, who help to empower the national industry and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.
There, the minister stressed that the quality of Egyptian products is a top priority in national plans. Because quality is an essential tool to enable and support Egyptian industrial products in local and regional markets.
In the same context, the team, engineer/ Kamel Al-Wazir, called on companies and factories to work on localizing green industry technology, and to invest in quality and standardization applications. He also appreciated the national support provided by the Egyptian state to the industrial sector, stressing that Egypt’s presence at the head of the ISO organization is a reflection of all those national efforts, which made it qualified to lead the standards and quality system at the global level.
He stressed that the standard is: safety, health, and a clean environment, and is also the key to building a sustainable industry and a developing economy, noting that the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality plays a pivotal role in supporting Egyptian factories and their products by adhering to international specifications and opening new horizons for the Egyptian product.
