Decent Work Conference
In his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors ofArab Labor Organization Mr. Hassan Raddad, “Minister of Labour”, chaired the meetings of the Arab Coordination Group, which were held yesterday in the city of Geneva with the participation of representatives of governments, business owners and workers from Arab countries, and this was part of the efforts of the work of the 114th session of the International Labor Conference on Decent Work, whose activities began today – Monday – at the Palais des Nations. The meeting came with the aim of unifying Arab positions towards the issues on the conference’s agenda, in a way that supports the Arab presence within international forums concerned with labor and development issues, and in a way that also supports the ability of Arab countries to defend their common interests in light of the economic changes and rapid technological transformations, and in a way that also achieves Goal No. (8); Decent work and economic growth.

Arab confidence in the Egyptian role
These meetings revealed the status that Egypt enjoys within Arab and international labor institutions. In order to achieve these goals, the participants discussed efforts to develop Arab representation within the International Labor Organization, enhance the use of the Arabic language in the organization’s work, and expand development cooperation programs directed to Arab countries.
