The new republic with a sustainable vision

The New Republic with a Sustainable Vision
Here we begin the new year – the year 2024 – and begin a new presidential phase, in which we complete what we started yesterday, and strive to achieve our goals tomorrow. If we want to look at what we have achieved, the eye will not miss the steps and goals that the Egyptians have accomplishedEgypt Vision 2030, especially those related to infrastructure, and the legislation that has been issued that works to achieve these goals. The legislation of the new republic will be legislation based on implementing sustainable development strategies and taking environmental conservation measures. Not only from a cultural and societal perspective, but also from a practical economic and investment perspective.
This vision adopted by the new republic included the human being – the focus of development – achieving social justice, enhancing the ability to adapt to global changes, and achieving comprehensive and just sustainability in all sectors. This was done by creating the appropriate legislative climate, whose banner was carried by Parliament, and at that time the supervisory authorities were integrated with the executive authorities.
In the past few years, Egypt has supported the foundations and concepts of the modern state, and has sought to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), taking into account the environmental, social and economic dimensions, and taking into account the role of the green economy – or that knowledge-based economy – in the sustainability of the nation and the sustainability of its resources, in addition to its efforts to localize technology. All of these endeavors are helped to achieve them – without a doubt – by a number of procedures and a number of tools, the most important of which is Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Pillars of Egypt’s Vision 2030
Egypt’s Vision 2030 is the foundation of the new republic’s endeavors towards a sustainable homeland, and it establishes the principles of sustainable development in its social, environmental and economic dimensions, through integration between these three dimensions; In order to secure a decent life for the Egyptian citizen.
These dimensions include, for example, basic services, manufacturing, agriculture, equality, identity preservation, biodiversity, and managing environmental resources in sustainable ways. All of this is in line with the UN goals for sustainable development.
With these dimensions and those axes, Egypt aims to build a new social contract, based on urbanization and prosperity. A social contract that corrects the mistakes of the past, establishes – with effective planning – sustainable development paths, and enhances environmental and economic action steps. Which means that Egypt – the new republic – has begun implementing its strategies through the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Building humans first
This is how the new republic came about, based on the concept of building the human being in the first place, and its signs appeared with the launch of the “Decent Life” initiative, which targets the Egyptian countryside with all its needs. Therefore, these endeavors required the combined efforts of the government and the people at the same time.
In the new sustainable republic, we clearly find the extent to which the principle of partnerships between civil society institutions and the public sector has been deepened. This is what we saw through the initiative of Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, where he gave directives to make 2022 the year of civil society institutions, and in which the partnership between private sector institutions and state institutions was deepened.
These efforts – constructive partnership between the private and public sectors – were helpful in achieving the goals and achieving the desired results. This approach was based on a comprehensive ability and a clear vision for both the present and the future. Let the new republic be built with the planning, leadership and implementation of the people.
