Within the framework of intensive preparations for the launch of the second phase of the comprehensive health insurance system, which begins with Minya Governorate as its first governorate, and with the fruitful partnership between the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control and private sector companies specialized in managing and operating technological services, and in cooperation with the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority, a workshop was organized under the title “Strengthening the partnership with the private sector and digital transformation in the health sector”, aimed at supporting the readiness of health facilities in Minya and enhancing their ability to meet the requirements for joining the system in accordance with the standards Quality.

This partnership comes in light of the vision of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Supervision, headed by Dr. Ahmed Taha, towards consolidating a culture of quality as a basic foundation for developing health care, and enhancing integration between the various elements of the system, ensuring the provision of safe, effective and sustainable health services that meet the needs of citizens, ensuring the achievement of the third goal as well as the seventeenth goal concerned with achieving good health and well-being and strengthening partnerships.

The workshop reviewed the roles assigned to the comprehensive health insurance system bodies, as the authority carries out its role in applying and issuing quality standards, while the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority contributes to providing a comprehensive umbrella of services, and the private sector also provides an advanced digital infrastructure that contributes to raising operating efficiency and improving the management of health services.

Providing full support to health facilities

The General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control (Jahar) also provided a detailed presentation of its role in the comprehensive health insurance system, the various standards packages, and the authority’s services that ensure full support for health facilities during the accreditation journey, including technical support and training, which contributes to achieving the fourth goal of quality education and capacity building, and other services that help health facilities adhere to standards and apply them to improve the quality of health services provided.

In a related context, the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control organized an awareness day for private sector hospitals under the slogan “Together towards a successful implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system in Minya Governorate,” which included an explanation of accreditation requirements and registration mechanisms. In addition to the participation of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance to clarify the mechanisms and conditions for contracting with the private sector, which contributes to accelerating the steps of qualifying health care facilities and their inclusion in the system.

Review of hospital accreditation standards

The event also included a review of hospital accreditation standards and GSR standards, in addition to presenting distinguished application models, experiences and success stories from Minya Governorate hospitals. It included models from the Minya Health Directorate, university hospitals and the private sector, which shed light on the accreditation journey of these facilities and reflected the positive impact of applying quality standards on improving the level of health services.
