The Health Accreditation and Regulatory Authority grants 12 new medical facilities the accreditation and quality certificate

The Health Accreditation and Oversight Authority plays an important role in ensuring the quality of health care services, establishing a culture of continuous improvement, and enhancing citizens’ confidence in government, university, and private health facilities. It also helps health facilities develop their performance and reduce their risk factors by using the scientific method in managing risks, discovering them before they occur, and working to take all necessary measures to prevent their occurrence or recurrence.

Improving the quality of health services reflects positively on the efforts made to achieve comprehensive sustainable development and achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030.

As part of these efforts, the Chairman of the Health Accreditation and Oversight Authority, Dr. Ahmed Taha, announced that 12 new health facilities had obtained total or partial accreditation or its renewal by decision of the Supreme Accreditation Committee, after a careful and comprehensive assessment of the quality of health services provided in accordance with the internationally approved GAHAR standards from the International Association for Healthcare Quality.

Facilities obtain full accreditation

Some facilities succeeded in obtaining full accreditation after fulfilling all requirements for quality,Clinical Governanceand patient safety. In the South Sinai Governorate, the Fayrouz Medical Complex succeeded in obtaining full accreditation, in a step towards strengthening the presence of accredited facilities in the governorate and supporting the provision of health services through the comprehensive health insurance system.

Medical facilities that have obtained initial accreditation

Some medical facilities and units also obtained the initial accreditation certificate in several governorates, which reflects the extent of improving the quality of health care in them.

In South Sinai Governorate:

  • Wadi Al-Tar Family Medicine Unit
  • Taba Family Medicine Unit

And in Giza Governorate:

  • Loyal Family Medicine Unit
  • Al-Kadaiah Family Medicine Center

As for Menoufia Governorate:

  • Family Medicine Unit, Tenth Residential District
  • Kafr Al-Sawalmiya Family Medicine Unit.

In Fayoum Governorate, the Al-Ataa Specialized Center for General Surgery and Endoscopy also obtained initial accreditation, and we note the large spread of accredited health facilities throughout the Republic, which leads to an increase in the confidence of citizens and investors in the health sector, and proves that high-quality health services are not limited to large cities, and also reflects the efforts made to develop the health sector according to a well-thought-out plan to cover all governorates of the Republic.

Renewal of accreditation for some establishments

In order to ensure periodic follow-up and to maintain the level of quality of health services provided, the Authority, headed by Dr. Ahmed Taha, is also following up on the already accredited facilities to renew their initial accreditation, and these facilities include:

  • Cairo Fatimid Hospital - Cairo
  • Damanhour Oncology Center - Beheira

In addition to renewing the full accreditation of the Family Medicine Unit in 44 buildings in Port Said Governorate. The renewal of accreditation for these facilities reflects their consistent commitment to quality standards issued by “Jahar”, and their ability to maintain patient safety systems and continuously improve service.

Dr. Ahmed Taha praises the institutions’ keenness to provide the best quality

Dr. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of the Health Accreditation and Control Authority, was keen to congratulate all facilities that obtained or renewed accreditation. Encouraging it and pushing it to continue progress, he also stressed that this success reflects the growing level of awareness of quality standards and the keenness of health institutions to adopt best practices to ensure patient safety and raise the efficiency of services.

He added that this continued progress in the accreditation process enhances the state’s readiness to expand the application of the comprehensive health insurance system, and also establishes a health model based on clinical governance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.

Full readiness to provide support

The Authority confirms its constant endeavor to provide support to establishments wishing to obtain accreditation and upgrade their services through technical support programs, training, and creating a work environment that enhances occupational safety, governance, and performance measurement and improvement.
