The complex seeks to make Sharjah a global center for innovation and research. Which contributes to achieving the UAE’s vision towards an economy based on knowledge and innovation.
The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park has an effective role in forming a strong ecosystem for innovation, as it is a beacon of progress, and you have succeeded in cooperating with other leading entities to support environmental technology and sustainable development. How did you succeed in achieving this?
The Sharjah Complex has succeeded in building strategic partnerships with leading international and local institutions. To promote environmental technology and sustainable development. By attracting innovative technology companies and academic institutions, and hosting research programs and projects focusing on sustainable solutions, the complex was able to create an environment that encourages sustainable innovation. It also played a vital role in developing environmental projects – such as renewable energy projects and water desalination – through cooperation with governmental and private entities working to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park embraces innovative projects in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology, to support the education sector in the Emirates. What are the most important features of these projects?
The Sharjah Complex offers a variety of projects that contribute to the development of the education sector, including:
Applied Research Centers: These are centers concerned with innovation in the fields of science and technology.
Academic cooperation programs: In partnership with international universities and academic institutions, advanced training and research programs are provided.
Advanced laboratories: Such as the smart manufacturing laboratory and engineering laboratories that provide students and researchers with an educational and practical environment.

Through these strategies, the Academy seeks to enhance women’s participation in all aspects of practical and research life. Which contributes to achieving sustainable development and balanced economic growth. It also encourages women to engage in innovative technological activities, as the complex works with many local and international partners. To identify more opportunities for their economic empowerment in the Arab region, by looking at women as leaders, beneficiaries, and contributors in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. In line with the outcomes of theFourth Industrial Revolution, we help in this by providing new jobs for women and turning the challenges they face into opportunities.
It is known that automation has led to the creation of new jobs for women that were exclusive to men. Based on this vision, women occupy 50% of the total workers in the complex. Out of our keenness to empower them in the technology, research and development sector, as some of them occupy new positions and positions for women, including the engineering sector in advanced technology and scientific laboratories, in addition to female entrepreneurs who receive special support from the complex within exceptional investment packages.
