The Red Crescent launches the “With Your Hands, Save a Life” initiative to promote first aid
Community awareness of the importance of first aid has a major role in preserving human life, which is what many institutions are working to achieve, most notably the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which hours ago launched a new initiative entitled “With Your Hands, You Save a Life.”
This initiative aims to raise awareness among Egyptian women pioneers in the field of first aid, as this initiative can link many development goals; On the one hand, this initiative works to achieve goal (3)good health and well-being, and on the other hand, it supports the steps of Egyptian women and empowers them in an important field such as first aid, so we can then achieve goal (5) gender equality. In general, it is an initiative that supports the role of Egyptian women in quickly dealing with emergency situations, based on their societal roles and shared responsibilities, as they can provide immediate health support. As a contribution to combating everything that threatens human life in critical times.
The “With Your Hands Save a Life” initiative is part of the Egyptian Crescent’s initiatives in cooperation between it and the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and under the patronage of the First Lady, wife of the President of the Republic – Mrs. Intisar Al-Sisi – who generously sponsors this initiative; Therefore, Dr. Maya Morsi – Minister of Social Solidarity – extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to the First Lady.
In the same context, the Minister of Social Solidarity confirmed that the First Lady’s interest in this initiative comes within her continuous follow-up of the activities of the Egyptian Red Crescent at all levels. The Minister of Social Solidarity also confirmed that her keenness to visit the main headquarters of the Egyptian Red Crescent more than once played an important role and was a positive factor in strengthening the efforts of volunteers and workers of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
Regarding this important event, Dr. Maya Morsi indicated that the “With Your Hands, Save a Life” initiative will work to provide social pioneers with special training courses in the field of first aid, and their number will reach 15,000 pioneers; With a desire to provide them with the correct first aid skills, and so that they can transfer these skills to members of their communities, which contributes to reducing the complications of injury and saving the lives of the injured.
The Minister of Social Solidarity also explained that the First Lady will closely follow the results of the “With Your Hands, You Save a Life” initiative, moment by moment, which places a double effort on the shoulders of those responsible for this initiative. Dr. Maya Morsi also believed that the power of social pioneers will meet on the ground with the experience of the Egyptian Red Crescent within an initiative that has all the elements for success.
