In the presence of the Earth Guards magazine, the activities of the second conference of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects witnessed an unprecedented turnout from entrepreneurs and project owners. It is the conference that is considered an Egyptian window to shed light on the efforts of the private and public sectors in the field of climate and development work.

The second conference of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects was full of pioneering development achievements, achievements achieved by many Egyptian institutions. Among them is the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. There, the Earth Guards saw the remarkable role of the Ministry of Communications in supporting digital transformation, implementing green projects in the field of developing industries, and developing the skills of technical personnel, as well as the Ministry’s efforts in the field of artificial intelligence, by developing national strategies for artificial intelligence applications, in a way that is consistent with international best practices in this field, and this is after determining national priorities.

To shed light on the sustainable achievements achieved by the Ministry of Communications, in line with “Egypt Vision 2030”; Earth Guards magazine had an appointment with Dr. Ghada Labib, “Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Institutional Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology,” where she discussed with Dr. Reham Farouk - Chair of the Magazine’s Board of Directors, ways of cooperation between Earth Guards and the Ministry of Communications to increase awareness of sustainable development and the importance of digital transformation.

Labib then referred to the strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with regard to Egypt’s Vision 2030, which is a role that the Ministry plays through important steps, including: developing the infrastructure for information and communications technology, promoting digital transformation, and achieving financial inclusion, in addition to building technical capabilities, encouraging innovation, and supporting Egypt’s position regionally and internationally.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the two women touched on other topics related to development affairs; Labib’s speech - in her capacity as Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Institutional Development - reflected the most important pillars of “Egypt Vision 2030”, which are the national pillars of digital transformation projects among all sectors.

In the same context, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Institutional Development - Dr. Ghada Labib - drew attention to the importance of technology in this Egyptian vision, and the necessity of shifting towards green projects that preserve the environment.

At the conclusion of her meeting with Dr. Reham Farouk, Dr. Ghada Labib pointed to the most prominent achievements of the Ministry of Communications, including projects and initiatives related to supporting and developing digital capabilities, in a way that serves government institutions in a sustainable manner, and this is by increasing their efficiency. So that it can meet the requirements of the Egyptian citizen, all of this - in accordance with the Egyptian Constitution, Egypt’s Vision 2030, and Africa’s Agenda 2063 - in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
