This achievement is the result of a wise policy
This Arab achievement is, in essence, the result of a wise policy that made the development of the health system a national priority, and established the concept of “health is a right for every citizen” through the comprehensive health insurance project, which has become an influential model in the Arab region, due to its strong organizational structure, a clear and measurable accreditation path, and integration between the parties responsible for financing, service provision, oversight, and governance.
It also represents one of the most important national projects adopted by the Egyptian state, as it affects the lives of every citizen without exception, and guarantees his access to safe health service in accordance with international quality standards.
Universal health coverage is the dream of Egyptians
Dr. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control, added that comprehensive health coverage is a dream for Egyptians in achieving health security, and is not just an administrative reform program, and that it is the state’s main tool for bringing about real and comprehensive reform in the entire health system.
Dr. Ahmed Taha stressed that despite the great global challenges that faced the first phase of implementing the project represented by the international economic crises and the Corona pandemic, the Egyptian state was able, thanks to the stability of its institutions and the cooperation of health system partners, to overcome those challenges and achieve tangible results on the ground.
He also indicated that the next phase will witness building on the lessons and experiences that the state gained during the first phase, while developing policies, deepening accreditation, consolidating a culture of quality, and charting a more robust and effective path for the next stages of the comprehensive health insurance project.
