World Future Energy Summit 2026.. How does clean energy restoreShapingThe world?
In a world where the race towards clean energy is intensifying and reshaping the features of the energy future, the World Future Energy Summit 2026 stands out as one of the most important international platforms that the world is turning to today. It is a broad space in which the will to change meets the power of implementation, and during which clean energy technologies, green hydrogen, and climate innovation are transformed into tangible paths and giant investments that reshape the global energy map, and it cannot be considered a regular event within the sustainability agenda.
At a historic moment in which hundreds of billions are flowing towards next-generation energy solutions, and in which the climate ambitions of countries and institutions are rising, the summit opens its doors to an international dialogue that brings together decision-makers, technology pioneers and investors, to launch a new phase of the energy transition, a phase that goes beyond slogans to action, and transforms the vision into reality that leads the world towards a cleaner, more sustainable and equitable future.
An ambitious summit that reshapes the future of clean energy
The 18th edition of the summit is the largest and most ambitious since the event began; Between January 13 and 15, 2026, Abu Dhabi will host the leaders of the global transition towards clean energy, innovation, and investment in one platform.
The event is expected to receive more than 55,000 visitors, in addition to 800 exhibitors, 400 international brands, 350 experts and speakers, in addition to 20 government partners, with 14 official international pavilions. A wide range of global institutions are participating in the event, most notably the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), along with hundreds of institutions and companies from various countries of the world.
When visions turn into implementation on the ground
This summit comes with the region’s desire to push the transition toclean energytowards unprecedented levels; The UAE announced an investment of $54 billion in clean energy before the end of the decade, and at COP28 it announced the allocation of $83 billion to finance clean technology, and an additional $30 billion through the Alterra Fund.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia has allocated $270 billion to promote renewable energy projects, in addition to a commitment to finance climate projects worth approximately $200 billion as part of Saudi Arabia’s growing green initiatives.
With this expansion in green investments, the 2026 Summit is focused on turning these major pledges into tangible solutions. Through exhibitions, conferences, and innovation centers, the World Future Energy Summit will bring together policymakers, investors, innovators, and industry leaders to open new partnerships, accelerate the deployment of technologies, and expand financing for clean energy projects.
An official in charge of the event stated: “As a major event within Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, the World Future Energy Summit is the place where the global energy system comes together to conclude deals. The Summit will bring together leaders from governments and the energy, technology and finance sectors to drive the deployment of solutions on the ground, build partnerships that address the major challenges of our time, and harness the power of artificial intelligence and innovation to unleash scalable climate solutions.”
New paths reveal the features of the energy future in 2026
The 2026 edition also introduces a range of new specialist areas and tracks designed to highlight transformative technologies and growing opportunities in energy markets. The summit will witness the launch of the FUSE AI area for the first time, which is a unique exploratory space dedicated to applications of artificial intelligence in energy, smart cities, and enhancing resilience to climate change.
This new region was developed in response to the ambitions of Middle Eastern countries that are investing billions of dollars in huge data centers based on artificial intelligence and supporting infrastructure, as part of their efforts to enhance their capabilities within the Fourth Industrial Revolution and rapidly diversify their economies.
The summit also hosts its advanced entrepreneurship platform (The Greenhouse), which brings together more than 50 startups working in clean energy, mobility, water and climate technologies. This platform aims to connect startups directly with investors and major companies, as it is a new extension of the CLIX platform initiative, which is a forum for exchanging climate innovations that has always brought together the brightest minds around the world to confront the most pressing climate and environmental challenges.
The summit also launches a new experience entitled “Greenpeace Cinema”, in the first cooperation of its kind with Greenpeace in the Middle East and North Africa, to provide a creative space in which pressing environmental issues are presented through storytelling and strong visual impact.
The summit also witnesses the return of the Carbon Forward event, one of the most prominent platforms organized in conjunction with the World Future Energy Summit, after its success in Abu Dhabi last year. This event is one of the most prominent platforms that helps parties in the public and private sectors understand the risks and opportunities associated with climate change in a deeper and more practical way.
Conferences that shape the features of the new generation of energy
Through keynote sessions, specialized dialogues, and real-life case studies, conference participants will gain practical insights covering the entire energy system. Each conference is designed to be directly relevant to practical reality, giving attendees a deeper understanding of the challenges within their fields, and tools to help them make real change towards a better future.
This year’s expanded conference program includes seven main tracks, including the launch of the Artificial Intelligence Conference for the first time, to discuss how to adopt artificial intelligence responsibly across the energy, infrastructure, and smart cities sectors.
Other specialized platforms include:
Solar and Clean Energy Conference, which discusses the strategic, technical and financial aspects of reducing emissions.
Circular Economy Forum, which is an important platform for driving innovation in the field of recycling and sustainable waste management.
Electric Mobility and Sustainable Cities Forum, which focuses on building more resilient, sustainable and inclusive urban systems.
1.5°C Pathway, a high-level climate forum that helps organizations accelerate carbon reduction efforts.
Water Conference, which addresses water security through innovation and smart resource management.
Green Finance Forum, which explores modern investment models supporting climate action.
Summit puts region on path to global energy transition
With record investments flowing into low-carbon technologies, exceeding $386 billion in the first half of 2025 alone, the World Future Energy Summit 2026 comes at a turning point. With the summit’s national pavilions, startup displays, specialized conferences, and areas dedicated to innovation, it is becoming the most prominent platform in the region for highlighting global climate ambitions and creating the environment that enables these ambitions to be transformed into practical, implementable steps.
As the world approaches a critical turning point in its race towards a low-emission future,Earth Defenders Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting this transformation, believing that protecting our planet begins with enabling sustainable solutions that are implemented on the ground, and not remaining confined to reports and conferences.
