After six years of Water Week, the first activities of the seventh edition ofCairo Water Week, which was titled “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Societies,” was launched on October 13, with the title “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Societies.” Under the patronage of the President of the Republic, this edition brings together a number of water resources development specialists from various countries of the world, as they seek to discuss the most important issues of water management and ways to enhance them to combat changes. Throughout its long history, Cairo Water Week also included 152 sessions, 113 research summaries, 18 lengthy summaries, in addition to 10 full papers.

These numbers reflect the value that this Egyptian International Week provides at the local and global levels, as it displays innovative and constructive ideas in the field of water promotion, communication with water policy experts around the world, and cooperation with national and international entities. This undoubtedly sheds light on Egypt’s rich culture, and measures its role in making global water policies more just and consistent with national needs in all countries of the world.

Therefore, the speech of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi expressed this importance in the truest way, as his sovereignty stressed that organizing the seventh Cairo Water Week at this time – despite the great challenges the world is witnessing – is an opportunity to highlight the importance of discussing issues of water resources management and development. To preserve the safety and sustainability of international water resources, in accordance with the principles of international water law.

It is worth noting that the event witnessed the organization of an exhibition on the sidelines of the 7th Cairo Water Week, where the Egyptian government provided governmental and private institutions with a platform that can shed light on its programs, products and innovations in the field of water and support its resources, in addition to the lively discussions included in this international week on the topics of water desalination and its national and international projects, renewable energy, and the latest technological solutions in the field.
