Youth and Sports cooperates with Homat Al-Earth magazine to support Egypt’s Vision 2030
Within the framework of community participation that all ministries are working to implement, theMinistry of Youth and Sports cooperates with the Earth Guards magazine to increase awareness among youth and young people - and among all segments of society - of pressing issues in the fields of environment and development. This cooperation is the truest expression of the role that Earth Guards has played in these two promising fields since its establishment until now. It is a scientific, news magazine that does not aim for profit from its development and environmental efforts, as it works to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preserve the environment in line with local and regional trends.
This cooperation comes after many societal successes achieved by the Earth Guards magazine. The magazine is a high platform and a sincere call for everything related to sustainable development and its goals, and everything related to the environment and preserving it by combating the effects of its degradation, and researching ways to adapt to the climate changes that the world is witnessing in recent years.
The forms of these efforts varied, and one of the most prominent and important was the “Earth Guards Shield” competition, which was launched by the magazine under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. In honor of individuals who seek to achieve these development and environmental goals, and in honor - also - of institutions with sustainable achievements, which perform their societal role as an important step towards implementing all forms of social responsibility.
Hence, the vision of youth and sports agreed with the vision of the protectors of the earth, so they took into consideration that societal responsibility, which is a fundamental pillar of the national agenda, “Egypt Vision 2030.” Therefore, the cooperation reflects the efforts of youth, sports, and protectors of the earth, as it is a cooperation that focuses on spreading awareness of the concepts of the environment and sustainable development, and this is through media sharing, and publishing everything that can bring these concepts closer to people’s minds.
Also, the two parties - Homat Al-Ard Magazine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports - decided that cooperation should not be limited to electronic methods, so the cooperation included the field of holding lectures, coordinating initiatives, and implementing relevant training courses.
Regarding cooperation between youth, sports, and protectors of the earth in the field of electronic publishing, the Ministry and the magazine agreed to exchange electronic content that supports work in the fields of development and the environment. Consequently, the Ministry began publishing an awareness series - on its electronic platforms - produced by the Earth Guards magazine, which is the series “What does it mean?”.
It is worth noting that “what does it mean?” A video series published periodically on the magazine’s channel. It consists of introductory video episodes in an easy style, the time of each episode not exceeding thirty seconds. The episodes of the series revolve around defining environmental and development concepts that are frequently heard by non-specialized people, such as: sustainability, waste and recycling, the atmosphere, and other concepts.
Therefore, the Ministry of Youth and Sports publishes the episodes of this series for the ease of understanding its content, and its ability to reach people’s minds without complicated terminology, and far from dry academic language. So that citizens realize the dimensions of sustainable development and the limits of work in the field of environmental preservation.
In conclusion, Homat Al-Earth magazine views its cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports with great interest. Because it is a cooperation that comes within its efforts that target work priorities in the field of the environment and the field of sustainable development. In furtherance of Egypt’s Agenda 2030, and in line with international efforts to preserve the environment and combat climate change.
