Foreign tradeis one of the main engines of economic growth and enhancing the competitiveness of countries, as it represents an effective tool for increasing production, expanding markets, attracting investments, and creating job opportunities. Therefore, supporting national exports and enhancing their ability to access global markets requires possessing advanced tools that allow understanding global trade trends and analyzing economic and trade variables accurately.

Supporting digital transformation and developing the business environment

He added that the portal comes within the ministry’s efforts for digital transformation and developing the business environment, as it provides detailed data on the movement of exports, imports and various markets, which contributes to supporting national exports, opening new markets for Egyptian products, and enhancing the ability of investors and exporters to make more efficient decisions in a way that supports the state’s goals for sustainable economic growth.
These efforts contribute to supporting a number of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), most notably the eighth goal on decent work and economic growth, the ninth goal on industry, innovation and infrastructure, as well as the seventeenth goal on establishing partnerships to achieve the goals, by enhancing institutional integration and employing technology to support national exports.
Integration of databases of relevant ministries
For his part, Dr. Osama Al-Gohary, Assistant Prime Minister and Head of the Information and Decision Support Center, confirmed that the Foreign Trade Information Portal represents the first national reference for commercial and industrial data and analysis, as a unified platform that integrates local and international databases into one system, allowing manufacturers, investors and exporters to access global market information and analysis from one window.
Al-Jawhari explained that the portal provides a comprehensive vision, which helps monitor global demand trends and make comparisons between different markets and economic blocs, as well as following up on non-tariff restrictions affecting the access of national products to foreign markets. It also provides updated monthly data on the movement of exports and imports, which supports national exports and helps the business community identify export opportunities and import gaps in international markets.
He added that the future development plans for the platform aim to integrate with the databases of the Ministry of Industry, the General Authority for Industrial Development, and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, which will provide exporters with a more in-depth vision regarding industrial and investment incentives, and help them prepare specialized studies for target markets and analyze the conditions of competitors, thus enhancing the ability of Egyptian products to expand and penetrate global markets.

In conclusion, the launch of the Foreign Trade Information Portal represents a profound shift in the philosophy of managing the foreign trade file, based on shifting the center of gravity from traditional decisions to decisions based on dense flows of data and real-time analysis of the markets. The true value of this platform lies in its ability to reshape the awareness of the Egyptian source himself, from a follower of global trade to an actor capable of reading it, interacting with it, and directing his decisions according to its changing rhythm.
TheThe Earth Guards Foundation appreciates the efforts to support national exports through the launch of the foreign trade information portal, as these efforts are the result of a new knowledge structure that is gradually being established within the country, based on institutional integration, data exchange, and the use of technology to build a sustainable competitive advantage.
