Hence, the Ministry of Social Solidarity stands out, which is one of the main axes in implementing this development trend, as Dr. Maya Morsi, the “Minister of Social Solidarity,” leads an integrated system of initiatives and policies aimed at strengthening social protection in Egypt, and these are the efforts whose latest news we review in the following lines; So keep reading.

The most prominent efforts of Dr. Maya Morsi in the past few days came during the Egyptian Women’s Meeting event, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and with the participation of a number of senior officials, including “Prime Minister” Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, and a number of ministers and women leaders.

There, President Sisi stressed in his speech that Egyptian women represent a fundamental pillar in the stability and cohesion of society, stressing that the state continues to support women’s rights and enhance their participation in various fields of national action, within the framework of implementing the “National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030”.

Confronting the social repercussions of conflicts

In the context of the joint Arab action to confront the worsening humanitarian crises in the region, Dr. Maya Morsi was at the head of the meeting of the extraordinary session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs via video conference technology.

A number of ministers of social affairs in Arab countries and officials from the League of Arab States participated in the meeting, where the participants discussed the humanitarian and social developments resulting from the conflicts and wars taking place in some countries of the region.

During the meeting, the Minister confirmed that the Arab region is going through exceptional circumstances as a result of the escalation of conflicts and the intensification of their profound impact on social and development conditions. This requires strengthening joint Arab action mechanisms to provide humanitarian and social support to the affected countries.

The Minister of Social Solidarity also reviewed the relief efforts made by Egypt through its humanitarian institutions – led by the Egyptian Red Crescent – in supporting those affected by regional crises, whether by sending humanitarian aid convoys or providing relief support in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions that the region is going through.

Honoring exemplary mothers

In the context of celebrating the role of Egyptian women, Dr. Maya Morsi witnessed a ceremony honoring exemplary mothers for the year 2026, in the presence of Counselor Amal Ammar, “President of the National Council for Women,” and a number of leaders and public figures.

This honor is an annual tradition that aims to highlight inspiring models of mothers who presented stories of struggle and giving in various governorates of the Republic, reflecting the pivotal role of the Egyptian mother in raising generations and consolidating societal values.

This year’s competition witnessed wide participation from women from various governorates, as hundreds of mothers applied to the competition, and a number of exemplary mothers were selected according to precise criteria that take into account the conditions of struggle and social and family achievement.

The honored categories varied to include exemplary mothers, surrogate mothers, and mothers of children with disabilities, in addition to honoring mothers of martyrs of the armed forces and police, reflecting the state’s appreciation for the various forms of giving and sacrifice offered by Egyptian women.

In conclusion, it appears to us that these multiple movements that combine social, economic, and legislative empowerment are a national path to support social protection in Egypt, through integration between empowering women, promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, developing social financing tools, and expanding the humanitarian response to regional crises.

From this standpoint,The Earth Guards Foundation believes that what the social protection system is witnessing in Egypt represents an advanced model in linking social policies to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially with regard to eradicating poverty, promoting equality, and building more inclusive societies.

Therefore,The Foundation confirms that the continuation of this approach requires deepening the integration between social and economic policies, strengthening the role of civil society institutions, and expanding the areas of real empowerment for the most needy groups, ensuring that social protection programs are transformed from tools of support into real engines of development and societal stability.
