The Egyptian vision to enhance cooperation between countries of the Global South to support security and peace

In this regard, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, delivered a speech at the leaders’ meeting on “Partnership for Multilateral Action, Security and Peace,” which was held in New York City within the framework of the work of the eighty-first regular session of the United Nations General Assembly, in the presence of Mr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, Mr. Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, and a number of heads of state and government and officials participating in the meeting.

It is chaired by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, President The Council of Ministers, Egypt’s delegation to the United Nations General Assembly meetings, commissioned by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic. Supporting the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting peace and security

At the beginning of his speech, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly explained that everyone shares the same noble goals, which are promoting peace and stability, supporting sustainable development, and promoting multilateralism and the goals and principles of the United Nations Charter. However, achieving these goals seems more difficult today than ever before, in light of the increasing number of conflicts the world is witnessing.

In a related context, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, participated in the second discussion session entitled “Discussions on Reshaping the Global Order (The Global Reset). Dialogues), which revolves around “A New Grand Bargain for Development,” during the side event organized by the Republic of Ghana on the sidelines of the work of the eighty-first regular session of the United Nations General Assembly, regarding the “Accra Reset” initiative.

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly’s intervention came about addressing the mechanisms for establishing a more balanced international system, and Egypt’s vision of the initiative’s role in contributing to shaping this future. This is considering that Egypt is a major supporter of it.
