Protocols to enhance digital transformation

In one of the most prominent digital transformation stations within the social work system, Dr. Maya Morsi witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding and two cooperation protocols with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, aiming to launch the national project for digital institutional development for associations, federations, and civil institutions, and enhancing their readiness to adopt modern and sustainable technological solutions.

The digital transformation agreements include an integrated program aimed at supporting 3,000 independent professionals who are graduates of the Ministry of Communications’ initiatives, through a cooperation protocol between the National Telecommunications Institute and Nasser Social Bank. The program allows financing the purchase of laptops; To facilitate their entry into the self-employment market and enhance their opportunities for economic independence. The partnership also includes training Nasser Bank staff on modern techniques in various technological fields.

Also in the context of digital transformation, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund and the National Postal Authority, aiming to enhance financial inclusion for the neediest groups, taking advantage of the Egyptian Post’s extensive infrastructure and its ability to reach wide segments of citizens, especially in villages and rural areas.

This cooperation represents an important step towards strengthening the field of civil society work in Egypt – as well as enhancing the field of digital transformation – by integrating digital technologies with specialized financing and training mechanisms, which contributes to providing a more efficient and comprehensive work environment, and contributes to enhancing digital transformation. The focus on building the digital capabilities of civil society organizations and expanding financial inclusion for vulnerable groups reflects the Ministry’s vision to develop an integrated system that keeps pace with technological developments and contributes to achieving sustainable economic empowerment that enhances the role of civil society in sustainable development.

Partnerships to support local production

In continuation of the Ministry’s approach to linking social protection with economic empowerment, the Minister witnessed the signing of two additional protocols with active institutions in civil society and government, the first of which is a cooperation protocol between the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund and the Delta Foundation for Community Entrepreneurship, to support economic empowerment projects at the governorate level, with a focus on the most vulnerable groups, by strengthening community value chains, and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives for youth and women.

As for the second protocol, it came in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture to support the “Plant” initiative, as Dr. Maya Morsi, “Minister of Social Solidarity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund,” and Mr. Alaa Farouk, “Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation,” signed a cooperation protocol between the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund and the Ministry of Agriculture, in order to provide wheat seeds to small farmers, and 50% of the cost of these seeds will be borne by the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund. This partnership represents An applied model for integrating social policies with efforts to achieve food security and sustainable rural development.

Immediate response to emergency situations

At the field level, Dr. Maya Morsi – in coordination with the institutions of the Ministry of Social Solidarity – intensified urgent response efforts to the challenges resulting from the weather fluctuations witnessed in Alexandria Governorate, and the level of preparedness was raised in the central operations room, in addition to strengthening the work of rapid intervention teams to monitor cases of homeless people.

The focus was on children and the elderly, and immediate support was provided to them. These efforts resulted in responding to a number of reports, including the transfer of an elderly woman to a care home, while the teams continued their field work in cooperation with the Egyptian Red Crescent to ensure protection and care for the most affected groups.

These steps reflect the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s commitment to dealing seriously and effectively with crises, and demonstrate the readiness of the social protection system to work in harmony and flexibility, to ensure the provision of the necessary support and meet humanitarian needs efficiently and quickly in emergency circumstances. Dr. Maya Morsi – Minister of Social Solidarity – witnessed the closing ceremony of the “Misr Al-Khair” Foundation Award for Leadership in Sustainable Charitable Giving for Sustainable Development 2025, in the presence of the Minister of Parliamentary, Legal and Political Affairs and a number of dignitaries. The award this year focused on Goal (6) of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, related to “clean water and sanitation,” as it aims to build the capabilities of civil society organizations and strengthen modern administrative systems to support development. sustainable development in Egypt.

In her speech, the Minister stressed the importance of the role of civil society institutions in spreading awareness and achieving positive change, especially in areas most in need, praising the Misr Al Khair Foundation and its pioneering institutional role in social development.
