Relief cooperation with the International Organization for Migration
First, Dr. Maya Morsi, “Minister of Social Solidarity,” opened her week by meeting with Mr.Mohamed Abdel Kiir, “Chief Officer of the International Organization for Migration,” in the presence of the leadership of the Ministry and the Egyptian Red Crescent, where the discussion focused on strengthening ways of cooperation in immigration issues, the return and reintegration issue, and coordinating the introduction of relief and humanitarian aid to thesector. There, Dr. Maya Morsi indicated that aid convoys continued to cross every day on a regular basis, considering the Egyptian Red Crescent’s experience a national achievement, while Abdel Kiir affirmed his appreciation for Egypt’s regional efforts and the readiness of the International Organization for Migration to prepare joint standard operating procedures (SOPs) and accelerate the movement of aid with a focus on the priorities and needs of the next stages.
Integrating microfinance into the economic empowerment system
This was followed by a meeting with Dr.Hala Abu Al-Saad “President of the Egyptian Federation for Financing Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises”, during which she submitted the request for the Federation to join theStrategic Financial System for Economic Empowerment, the session of which was chaired by the Minister based on the decision of the Prime Minister.
The Minister explained that the system aims to provide financial services for protection and economic empowerment plans, create a unified database for beneficiaries, and unify outlets and efforts to facilitate access to services for groups most in need in an electronic and organized manner.
Delivering children to foster families
The Ministry continued the path of transformation towards family care, as the Minister followed up on the work of the General Administration of Institutional and Family Care, and witnessed the procedures for handing over 14 children to foster families in the governorates of: Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sohag, Luxor, Suez, and Damietta. This is after completing the legal and administrative procedures.
Concerning this, the Minister explained that the foster care alternative family system aims to provide integrated care for children without care, and that the Ministry has handed over – since July 2024 – 497 boys and girls to foster foster families, bringing the total number of those sponsored within foster families to 12,159 boys and girls.

Honoring the elderly

Localization of prosthetic limbs
Regarding the file of persons with disabilities, the Minister met with a delegation from the German companyOtobock; In order to continue equipping the assembly and alignment centers within the project to localize the prosthetic limb industry, efforts were presented to equip 6 initial centers in several governorates, with preparations to begin training technical personnel in early November, as part of a plan to provide prosthetic devices, support the independence of people with disabilities, and integrate them into society.

Children with Disabilities Complex
The Minister also inauguratedThe Comprehensive Disability Services Complex in Giza, affiliated with the National Foundation for Family and Community Development, which includes an institution for the care of juveniles with disabilities, a comprehensive assessment center, an inclusive nursery, and a rehabilitation office. At this opening, Dr. Maya Morsi reviewed the services provided within the Juvenile Care Institution for People with Disabilities.
This was before the Minister of Social Solidarity followed a presentation presented by children with disabilities from the care institutions affiliated with the National Foundation for Family and Community Development and the people of the Asmarat neighborhood, where she praised what she saw as the distinctive capabilities of the boys and girls.
National Training Academy

Britain and support for solidarity and dignity
Dr. Maya Morsi received the British Ambassador to Cairo “Mark Bryson Richardson”, where the two sides reviewed the working mechanisms of the “Solidarity and Dignity” program and the system for exiting from it towards economic empowerment, and touched on efforts to bring humanitarian aid into Gaza, with the ambassador praising Egypt’s role in managing humanitarian crises and supporting the evacuation of medical cases in cooperation with partners. International.

Financial Control

It is held in light of global economic transformations and mounting financial challenges, while Egypt officially assumed the presidency of the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions for a period of three years, marking a new phase of international supervisory cooperation.

Craft workshops

Arab Drug Prevention Plan
One of the activities of the Ministry of Social Solidarity this week was the launch of mechanisms for implementing theArab Plan for the Prevention and Reduction of Drug Risks, in cooperation with the League of Arab States and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, in the presence of representatives of 14 Arab countries. There, the Minister of Social Solidarity confirmed that the document represents a guiding framework for reducing the demand for drugs and enhancing treatment, rehabilitation and community integration services.
