World Economic Forum: Egypt is on the path to economic reform

In recent years, the world’s attention has turned to Egypt, as it is one of the leading countries in the field of economic reform, in addition to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in many sectors, which made it a model to be emulated regionally and internationally.

These Egyptian efforts have resulted in successful economic developments, a success that was praised by Mr. Borge Brandet, President of the Economic Forum, in a meeting with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, where he saw that Egypt is on the path to economic reform, which has helped a lot in attracting more investments and enhancing international cooperation in all fields.

In this meeting, the President of the Republic received a number of relevant ministers – in addition to Mr. Borge Brandet – including: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, “Prime Minister,” Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, “Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation,” Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, “Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad,” and Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib, “Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.”

In this meeting, Mr. President discussed Egypt’s efforts in the field of sustainable development, and the role of this in achieving sustainable economic growth, with a focus on infrastructure projects, industry, agriculture, and health. Mr. President stressed the importance of joint cooperation, stressing the need to encourage the foreign private sector, as well as the importance of investing in other sectors of highest priority, such as: industry, energy, communications, and transportation.

The meeting also dealt with developments in the regional situation, as the President of the World Economic Forum listened to Mr. President’s vision on ways to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East region and throughout the world, while warning of the negative effects of the ongoing conflicts, which undermine economic efforts at the global level.

In conclusion, this meeting provides an in-depth look at Egypt’s efforts at the economic level, in order to achieve the goals ofsustainable development, which is demonstrated by the praise of the President of the World Economic Forum, who affirmed that Egypt is on the right track.
