100 billion pounds to support clean energy in Egypt
The severe climate change the world is facing requires us all to use technology that preserves our health, saves our environment’s resources, and makes the planet fit for sustainable living in the future. This climate change, and the resulting environmental and economic challenges; It is not a danger that affects one country or another, but rather it is a danger facing everyone.
From here it has become clear how important it is to shift away from fossil energy and work to use sustainable alternatives. So that we can – whenever we are responsible – control the effects of climate change, something that the Egyptian government has realized in recent years, as it has been assured that the coming future will only belong to those who rise on the foundations of sustainability and standards of environmental preservation in all fields.
Among these Egyptian efforts to supportRenewable energyand its uses are initiatives related to electric cars, which help reduce carbon emissions and contribute to improving air quality. Which has a positive impact on public health and the environment. In response to this national trend, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed Egypt’s interest in encouraging and supporting investors in the field of electric cars. Therefore, His Excellency pointed out the importance of developing this vital industry, which prompted Egypt to hold a number of discussions – between 2016 and 2017 – with many countries regarding this matter, such as Japan and Korea.
Based on the importance with which Egypt views a sustainable industry such as the electric car industry, the President of the Republic affirmed the government’s readiness to provide major incentives to support this industry in the Egyptian investment environment. Among these incentives is the allocation of 100 billion pounds for this purpose.
This came in a meeting between the President of the Republic and some heads of major international companies specialized in industry, and this was on the sidelines of the activities of the third edition of theAnnual International Forum and Exhibition for Industry, which was attended by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, “Prime Minister,” and Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, “Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport.”
This is the Egyptian vision and its motivational steps in an industry that has become the center of sustainable development, and has become the essence of a new life based on a clean and healthy environment. Therefore, many countries have moved towards this promising industry, by improving their electrical networks and disabling many of their coal-fired stations, so that electric cars become a clean technology, with a much lower carbon footprint than traditional cars, which destroys the health of individuals and limits the growth of their countries’ economies.
At the end of the article, Homat El-Earth confirms to its dear readers its awareness-raising support for all development initiatives, and for everything that contributes to strengthening Egypt’s leadership in the sustainable industry sector – and other sectors – in accordance with the national vision – Egypt Vision 2030 – so that the lives of Egyptians are more sustainable.
