Intense efforts to feed on the Day of Arafat
In this context, Dr. Maya Morsi intensified efforts to ensure that iftar meals reach the largest number of fasting people during the Day of Arafat. Then the Ministry - in cooperation with the Misr Al-Khair Foundation - organized the largest collective iftar, aiming to feed about 70,000 fasting people in 25 governorates across the Republic, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the Ministry and civil society institutions, to expand the scope of charitable work and achieve the maximum benefit for the most vulnerable groups.

Other leading institutions, such as “Sanaa Al-Hayat”, “Egyptian Food Bank”, and “Abu El-Enein Charity”, participated in distributing tens of thousands of hot meals and meat, with the aim of bringing joy and happiness to the hearts of deserving families, and confirming that the values of solidarity and giving are an integral part of the Egyptian societal fabric.

Mr. Ayman Abdel Mawjoud, Permanent Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the National Associations Hajj Mission, confirmed that the first group of pilgrims had returned safely to Egypt, indicating that all pilgrims are fine and have completed their rituals in light of the comprehensive facilitations provided by the mission in coordination with the Saudi authorities, and this careful follow-up continues to achieve the Ministry’s commitment to providing the best services and care to pilgrims from the moment of travel until their safe return.
Monitoring and immediate response to reports
Within the framework of the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s commitment to providing immediate protection and care to the most vulnerable groups, Dr. Maya Morsi received a detailed report on the efforts of the Rapid Intervention Team during last May, as the report revealed that the team dealt with 561 reports, distress calls, and complaints in various governorates of the Republic.
These reports varied between cases of homeless children and adults, in addition to interventions within social care institutions, and the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Gharbia, Qalyubia, Port Said, Dakahlia, and Beheira topped the list of interventions, as 38 cases were placed in care institutions, and 14 other cases were integrated into their families.
These complaints have been dealt with and completed in full, and the team, in continuous cooperation and coordination with the unified government complaints system and the Ministry of Health, continues to work with high professionalism in dealing with humanitarian cases. To ensure that they receive the necessary health and social support, which confirms the Ministry’s rapid response to crises and urgent interventions.
Disbursement of an exceptional pension to the family of the martyr of chivalry
In appreciation of the noble sacrifices made by the people of the country, Dr. Maya Morsi directed the disbursement of an amount of 100 thousand pounds to the wife and children of the hero / Khaled Muhammad Shawqi, who passed away as a result of his injuries in a gas station fire accident on the 10th of Ramadan. This humanitarian decision comes in implementation of the directives of the Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, to disburse a reward to the hero’s family in appreciation of his extraordinary heroism and his sacrifice of his soul for the citizens. Coordination is also being made with the National Social Insurance Authority to provide an exceptional pension for the family of the deceased.
In this context, the Minister expressed her sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the family of the heroic martyr, stressing that what he presented is a role model of heroism and sacrifice, as he averted many casualties and destruction, and preserved many lives and property.
