In this context, Dr. Khaled Sofi, “President of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality,” participated in the activities of the Second African Forum for Food Legislation Bodies, which was organized by the National Food Safety Authority on the sidelines of the “Food Africa 2025 Exhibition”, with wide participation from representatives of African bodies and regional and international organizations concerned with food safety and quality.
The events witnessed congratulations to Dr. Khaled Sufi; On the occasion of his winning the position of President of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), becoming the first Arab and the second African to hold this position, in a step that reflects international confidence in Egyptian expertise, and confirms Egypt’s growing presence in the global standards and quality system.

Food legislation and support for intra-regional trade
There, Dr. Khaled Sofi, “President of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality,” stressed – during his speech – that the development of food legislation on the African continent represents a major axis for supporting intra-regional trade and ensuring the circulation of safe, high-quality food products.
