Graduation Ceremony for African and Egyptian Climate Ambassadors
The Earth Protectors magazine met with Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, President of Ain Shams University, at the graduation ceremony of the “Training Program for African and Egyptian Climate Ambassadors”. He began his dialogue by welcoming Prof. Dr. Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan, the President of the Association of African Universities, the Consul General and Deputy Ambassador of the State of Sudan, and the representatives of the Environment Ministers. In light of Egypt’s preparations to host the Climate Summit Conference (Cop27), he commented: “The topics now revolve around green transformation and sustainability, especially after the Climate Summit Conference (Cop26) and the momentum and intense interest that occurred around it, and the Egyptian state is fully prepared and equipped to host the Climate Summit Conference (Cop27) in light of theEgypt Vision 2030 He also praised the efforts made and the great interest of the political leadership and concerned parties in achieving sustainability.”

He concluded his speech by expressing his happiness with the university’s achievements, especially the College of Graduate Studies and Environmental Research, led by Professor Dr. Noha Samir Donia. Because of its great achievements in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and thanked all the attendees.
Also at the graduation ceremony, we also met with Mr. Professor Dr. Mohamed Saafan, Minister of Manpower, and he began his speech by expressing his gratitude for being invited to such a large ceremony, and said: “This program is one of the results and outputs of the (Get Green) initiative under the auspices of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to mobilize African and Egyptian students and researchers to build climate knowledge assets with society and raise environmental awareness, in preparation for receiving the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Convention.” United Nations Climate Change Action Committee (Cop27) in Sharm El-Sheikh next November."
Then he continued, saying: “In order to achieve Egypt’s Vision 2030 and move Egypt towards a green and sustainable future, and to achieve justice between different generations in the distribution of natural resources, to ensure the continuation of the development process, this must be done through three dimensions: the economic dimension, the social dimension, and the environmental dimension, and the contribution of all parties under the umbrella of the sustainable development strategies of Egypt’s Vision 2030, as this sustainability will not be achieved unless Through a strong commitment to partnerships and cooperation at the local and international levels.
He concluded his meeting with an important message: “We must first care and rely on humans; Going green is for man and by man.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, one of its most important results is the joint cooperation between the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Finance, and Ain Shams University; To benefit and transfer expertise in light of Egypt’s Vision 2030; To achieve sustainable development and go green, and in the end, Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini presented the university’s shield to the attendees, and thanked them for their efforts, wishing them success and continued efforts to spread awareness of sustainable development.
