In a few days, “International Women’s Day will come upon us. This occasion, which falls on the eighth of March every year, is celebrated by the United Nations and UNICEF, in addition to a large number of institutions and countries around the world. This is to highlight the effective role of women in sustainable development, support the empowerment of women, and enhance their rights and protect them in a way that ensures the fulfillment of the aspirations and hopes of all parts of society.
In this year’s celebration,Earth Guards participates by highlighting a group of the most prominent Egyptian female models, who were able to go beyond the limits of societal expectations, to achieve many achievements on the scientific and practical levels. Therefore, we continue with you in these days – ahead of International Women’s Day – in identifying these honorable models, in an effort by the magazine. In inspiring all women, supporting their empowerment, and highlighting their role in achieving sustainable development, and the heroine of this article is “Dalia Riyad”.
Dalia Riad is the Head of Marketing Communications atHSBC Bank. With over 20 years of proven track record in marketing planning, creative development, brand management, communications and public relations, Dalia has been able to define the identity, image and brand of many of the organizations she has joined.
Before joining HSBC, she worked in marketing and product management at several multinational companies includingHenkel,PepsiCo,Barclays, and others.
At the sustainability level, Dalia has developed several initiatives that work towards a carbon-neutral future, including “driving paperless banking” by promoting the spread of digital banking services, adopting electronic account statements, and introducing recycled plastic payment cards.
On the academic side, she holds a master’s degree in international marketing from the University of Michigan in the United States of America in association with the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and other specialized courses covering leadership, strategic planning, sustainability, and project management.
