The Alexandria Library organizes “Women’s Week for the Sustainable Environment”
As of today, Monday, the Library of Alexandria, under the title “Women’s Week for Sustainable Environment,” seeks to organize a number of events related to women in the month of March, at the Library’s headquarters, as well as in external places, including “Khadija’s Palace” in Cairo, in cooperation with the Alexandria Governorate, through the Studies Programme.Sustainable developmentYouth capacity building and support for African relations, and the Women’s Studies and Social Transformation Programme; This is in cooperation with the German “Hans Seidel Foundation” - Office of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Cairo.
The activities of Women’s Week for Sustainable Environment include a number of workshops that revolve around the principles of caring for women and their health, by highlighting the most important health initiatives and services that make women the center of their attention. As well as introducing the importance of sustainable initiatives and producing new ideas for green projects, also introducing the importance of rooftop farming and small agricultural industries, and focusing on women’s interest in their health, by highlighting the most important health initiatives and services provided to them.
Within the framework of these activities, the conference “Women and the Sustainable Environment” will be held this week, during the period from March 8 to 9, 2023 AD. This conference will be attended by a large number of women and environmental affairs experts and researchers, in addition to a large number of female graduates from universities in the Arab Republic of Egypt, coinciding with the celebration of International Women’s Day.
This is in appreciation of the Library of Alexandria for its enlightening and cultural role, and in continuation of the political and societal efforts adopted by the Egyptian state in the fields of supporting and empowering women, as well as to preserve the environment and achieve sustainable development. By raising community awareness of the importance of the issues discussed in training events and programs, societal problems related to women and the environment can be addressed.
