In a few days, “International Women’s Day will come upon us. This occasion, which falls on the eighth of March every year, is celebrated by the United Nations and UNICEF, in addition to a large number of institutions and countries around the world, in order to highlight the effective role of women in sustainable development, support the empowerment of women, enhance their rights and protect them in a way that ensures the fulfillment of the aspirations and hopes of both parts of the world. Society.

In this year’s celebration,Earth Guards participates by highlighting a group of the most prominent Egyptian female role models, who were able to go beyond the limits of societal expectations, to achieve many achievements on the scientific and practical levels. Therefore, we continue with you in these days - ahead of International Women’s Day - in identifying these honorable models, in an effort by the magazine. In inspiring all women, supporting their empowerment, and highlighting their role in achieving sustainable development, the heroine of this article is “Sara Ibrahim”.

Sarah joinedAttijariwafa Bankin 2010 after a successful professional journey in a number of large companies such as “Weber Shandwick” and “Siemens Egypt” And "General Motors Egypt".

Sarah has held numerous positions for a wide range of brands as well as participating in numerous national campaigns providing advisory services to private and public entities. She also worked closely with civil society organizations as well as a number of UN agencies in Egypt.

In her current position as Head of the Financial Inclusion, Governance and Corporate Affairs Sector, Ibrahim works on creating sustainability strategies and plans for companies in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Egypt’s Vision 2030. She is also responsible for managing social responsibility files and plays an active role in raising awareness and disseminating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those that Egypt has adopted in its agenda.

Sarah Ibrahim has also been a member of the Executive Committee of Attijariwafa Bank since 2014, and was appointed to the position of Secretary of the Board of Directors in March 2021. Due to her great efforts and her prominent role in the banking sector along with her extensive experience, she was chosen in 2020 among the list of the top 50 most influential women in Egypt.

Academically, Sarah Ibrahim obtained a BA in English from the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, in 1999. She also holds a master’s degree in global affairs from the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo.
