Minister of Planning and Economic DevelopmentSince December 22, 2019, and a prominent Egyptian economist and academic,Dr. Hala Al-Saeedobtained a doctorate in economics in general. 1989 from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. In 2011, she became the first elected Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, then Assistant President of Cairo University for Scientific Research and Foreign Relations during the period from September 2013 to 2016.
Dr.Hala Al-Saeedis one of the prominent banking figures, through her membership in the Board ofCentral Bank Management, and as the Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute for eight consecutive years, where she managed the institute with a vision Wa’eda aims to establish a professional training arm for Egyptian banks that applies the best international practices in developing technical skills.
Al-Saeed held several important positions, most notably advisorGovernor of the Central Bank of Egypt, member of the Board of Trustees of the Anti-Money Laundering Unit at the Central Bank, and member of the Board of Directors of the Arab African International Bank.
In addition to her busy professional life, she has many academic contributions, including a wide range of internationally acclaimed research papers, studies, and reports on many economic topics, most notably studies on international finance, financial and banking sector reform, economic reform, and privatization.
It is worth noting that Dr. Hala Al-Saeed received the Best Arab Minister Award in the first session of the Arab Government Excellence Award in November 2020.
