Al-Kilani is the second woman to take over theMinistry of Culturesince its establishment at the end of the 1950s. Before that, Al-Kilani worked as an assistant to the former president of the Cultural Development Fund in supervising the opening ceremony of the Opera House, and then she was later appointed president of theDevelopment Fund Cultural In January 2017.
On the academic side, Al-Kilani graduated from the Higher Institute of Ballet in May 1986, and years later she obtained a master’s degree from the Higher Institute of Ballet - Academy of Arts - in October 1997.
In 2000, she obtained a doctorate inArt Criticismfrom the Academy of Arts, and also completed a postgraduate diploma inCivil Society Lawand Human Rights at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science,Cairo University, in June 2005, and in 2014 she was appointed Dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts until August 2022.
In addition to her extensive academic career, Dr. “Neven El Kilani” worked in the field of public relations for the Opera House and the Creativity Center at the Egyptian Opera House.
In August 2022, Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani’s successes and efforts were crowned by her assuming the position ofMinister of Culture, succeeding Enas Abdel Dayem.
