In the next few days, the world will celebrate “International Women’s Day,” which falls on March 8 every year, during which the United Nations, UNICEF, and the entire world seek to highlight the role of women in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is an international day that the peoples of the world use to support strategies for empowering women everywhere, which makes it one of the steps to strengthen their rights – socially, economically and culturally – to ensure the implementation of the aspirations and hopes of all parts of society.

This year – the year 2024 – is the second year in a row, in which the Earth Guards participate in the celebration of International Women’s Day, by highlighting the achievements of prominent Egyptian and Arab women and pioneers – scientifically and practically – in their fields; Therefore, in the coming days, the magazine will accompany you through a journey – a series of articles on International Women’s Day – expressing honorable feminist models whose professional career has shone in the skies of Egypt and the Arab world, and this is through achievements that have inspired women of the whole world. So that empowering them will be a just way of life and a form of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As for the heroine of this article, she is Dr. Ghada Ali, the “MP in Parliament,” who has scientific and professional competence; She is a distinguished university doctor and politician, who made her professional career at Cairo University, in parallel with her notable progress and societal and institutional efforts at Parliament. Which made her a role model.

Dr. Ghada Ali sought to achieve inspiring academic successes, and this was – specifically – in the year 2000, when she worked as a member of the faculty of Cairo University. She began this academic pursuit when she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from the Faculty of Commerce, then a Master’s degree inRisk Management and Insurance, and after these two… Two academic degrees, she obtained a doctorate in risk management and insurance, and other scientific degrees.

Therefore, Dr. Ghada Ali deserved to be Deputy Director of the Master’s and Professional Doctorate Unit, as well as Deputy Director of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women at Cairo University, and her most prominent effort was represented in her leadership of student teams of more than 5,000 male and female students from 2014 to 2019; To combat violence against women inside and outside the university campus. This movement gave her popularity in the university community and the labor market, making her the subject of many honors and awards in various fields.

This busy academic career was an introduction to her work in the public and political field, where she worked as an advisorMinister of Youth and Sportsfor entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises, before Dr. Ghada Ali became a member of the Economic Committee in the House of Representatives for the coordination of youth parties and politicians.

Cairo University Authority was not the only place where Dr. Ghada Ali achieved her successes, but she was also a faculty member in the Anti-Corruption Academy at the Administrative Control Authority. She is also a lecturer at the Nasser Military Academy, and the regional director of the International Women’s Club in New York, in addition to being a scientific and technical advisor to many institutions and companies working in the insurance and risk management sector.

What distinguishes Dr. Ghada Ali is that she specializes in political and economic work, as she is interested in issues of unexploited state property, the capital market and the non-banking financial sector in general, and youth and women’s issues in particular. She was even a model worthy of honor on International Women’s Day, because of her achievements on the scientific and political sides, which inspire women all over the world.
