After thanking the political leadership for its efforts, the Minister addressed the inventory of the villages that need empowerment and are included in the program, and Al-Kabbaj added that the priority is for the villages of Upper Egypt; They are the poorest.
In this regard, 2,100 villages and 500,000 families in need of development were included in the Decent Life Programme, and 77,000 homes were developed, in addition to targeting another 123,000 homes for development, raising efficiency, and restoration.
andIn the file of supporting people with disabilities,780 thousand integrated services cards were issued, in addition to identifying 180 thousand families in the villages; To determine the rate of disability, it was assessed at 9.8 percent. The Decent Life Project includes a rehabilitation program for people with disabilities in various fields. Such as speech and physical therapy.
As for the field of human capital development, the Minister of Solidarity noted that 52,000 mothers and their children were supported in the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, and their available points on the ration card were increased, in addition to establishing 380 nurseries for children aged 0-4 years, and expanding the establishment of nurseries for people with disabilities, in addition to counting... 9050 nurseries in villages for a decent life, and a license other than the licensed number of them.
In continuation of these effortsone thousand community schools were established; To give those who have not enrolled in school and are over the age of entry a second chance at education, in addition to paying the fees of students who are unable to attend schools and universities, in line with the principle of equal opportunities; To confront multidimensional poverty.
In the direction of economic empowerment, the program provided productive assets and soft, low-interest loans, ranging between 5-8 percent, to establish micro-projects for women, as the Decent Life Program in 2021 made 11,000 projects available, at a cost of 780 million pounds.
As for irregular workers, data on 2 million workers was monitored to enhance insurance protection for them and their families.
The Minister concluded her speech by discussing issues of awareness and social solidarity, under the umbrella of the “Awareness” program, where 12 social, economic and behavioral issues were raised that threaten the path of development in Egypt; In order to correct misconceptions in Decent Life Villages, these issues include: adult education, safe motherhood, family planning, positive education, hygiene, water rationalization, combating addiction, and early detection of disability.
