President Sisi calls for solidarity against climate change
“Saving the Earth from climate change lies in the unity and solidarity of all countries of the world, and we must support the African continent, especially since it is the most affected by these changes. These changes represent a threat to the survival and continuation of countries at the global level.” With this message, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called on the countries of the world to unite and try to limit climate changes that have become a reality that threatens the survival of countries and societies.
The President also pointed out that the energy and food crises (which are the backbone of life) have accelerated significantly and noticeably. Which has led to the exacerbation and amplification of the climate crisis and the imminent challenges that African countries constantly face, due to their few and limited resources, capabilities, and ability to deal with these changes in an appropriate and optimal manner.
For his part, German Chancellor “Olaf Scholz” also stressed the importance of uniting and fighting climate change, especially since the energy crisis - after the Russian-Ukrainian war - has greatly worsened. Therefore, attention must be directed to increasing investment in sustainable infrastructure, especially renewable energy generation plants and gas infrastructure, and not relying - again, neither in Germany nor in other countries - on energy sources. In the end, in the presence of 40 representatives from various countries, they all agreed on the items discussed in this conference, namely the necessity of limiting and minimizing the rate of global warming, and reducing the emissions of harmful gases resulting from the production of energy from fossil fuels. From this standpoint, the representatives and ministers agreed on the path to be followed to combat climate change, and within the framework of joint cooperation between Egypt and Germany, they organized the forum that will determine the pathClimate Summit Cop 27Held in the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh.
