New international accreditation.. The Healthcare Authority obtains the ISO 9001:2015 certificate for quality management

Many countries around the world are seeking to build sustainable healthcare systems. In order to confront the accelerating economic and environmental crises throughout the world; Therefore, attention in this field has turned to supporting the management of quality systems in the health sector. It is the closest path to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for health, most notably the third goal:Good health and well-being.

In this context, the General Health Care Authority – under the leadership of Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Authority – announced the achievement of a new international achievement in the field of health quality systems management after obtaining the “ISO 9001:2015” certificate with the accreditation of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). It is the global umbrella for accreditation of certification bodies, ensuring international recognition of quality certificates.

The General Authority for Health Care also obtained the accreditation of the Egyptian National Accreditation Council (EGAC), the national body responsible for evaluating and accrediting certification bodies in Egypt. This reflects the compatibility of work systems within the Authority with local requirements and approved international standards.

Developing health care performance

In the same context, the General Authority for Health Care obtained the TÜV AUSTRIA Egypt accreditation for the “ISO” certificate, which is one of the most prominent international standards in the field of quality management systems. This accreditation aims to enhance the efficiency of institutional performance, improve operational processes, and raise the level of user satisfaction, while supporting a culture of continuous improvement within health institutions.

This achievement comes within the framework of the General Authority for Health Care’s adoption of an advanced model of institutional management according to the dimensions of sustainable development, which relies on a comprehensive institutional methodology, in a way that ensures the sustainability of performance, and that the quality of work is not linked to individuals, but rather to the entire institutional system.

The General Authority for Healthcare also worked to develop operational processes, by applying a number of modern tools and methodologies such as “SIPOC”, “Mapping”, “Process”, and “RACI”, through work teams with very diverse specializations. This contributed greatly to building a smart system for institutional excellence within the General Authority for Health Care.

Enhancing confidence in health services

In this context, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, “President of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project,” confirmed that this achievement is the culmination of the great efforts made by the work teams within the General Authority for Health Care, who worked in a team spirit to achieve this advanced level of sustainable institutional excellence.

Then Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki explained that the international accreditations obtained by the Public Authority for Health Care reflect its commitment to applying the best international practices in managing sustainable health care services. Pointing out that the “ISO 9001:2015” certificate represents international confidence in the efficiency of the work system within the General Authority for Health Care, and contributes to raising the quality of health services provided to beneficiaries, enhancing their levels of satisfaction, as well as supporting citizens’ confidence in the Authority’s health care facilities.

Then the President of the General Authority for Health Care added that applying quality standards within the Authority is an essential pillar for developing institutional performance. These standards have an important role in improving the work environment, enhancing the efficiency of resource use, and developing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, ensuring the provision of safe and sustainable health services in accordance with the highest international standards.

Health system with international standards

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki indicated that work will continue to obtain more international accreditations in various medical and administrative specialties, in a way that supports the Egyptian state’s direction towards building an integrated and advanced health system. He also affirmed the Authority’s commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and safety within its health facilities in the governorates implementing the comprehensive health insurance system.
