World Universal Health Coverage Day

World Universal Health Coverage Day
Throughout history, good health has always been the focus of humanity, not only as a basic condition for a decent life, but also as a major factor in achieving social and economic progress. With the development of societies, an urgent need has emerged to provide health care to everyone without exception, as it is a basic right for every human being, and not a privilege for one group over another.
Therefore,Earth Guards joins you in celebrating the World Universal Health Coverage Day, which falls on December 12 every year, a day designated by theUnited Nations since 2017 to highlight the importance of ensuring that everyone – anywhere – has access to necessary health care without cost being an obstacle. The roots of this day go back to a United Nations General Assembly resolution in 2012, which called for accelerating efforts to achieve this goal, as an integral part of sustainable development.
The World Universal Health Coverage Day aims to raise awareness of the necessity of establishing resilient health systems, and to cooperate with various partners to provide health services to all by 2030. During the Corona pandemic, the importance of this goal has emerged as a basic pillar for protecting individuals and societies in times of crisis and beyond.
This occasion represents a unique opportunity to review the successes achieved by countries, the challenges they still face in this field, and the lessons learned to enhance global and local cooperation. In order to build more comprehensive and equitable health systems.
In light of the current global developments – the most recent of which was the Corona pandemic – universal health coverage has become a more urgent issue than ever before. This crisis has revealed the fragility of health systems in many countries, and demonstrated the importance of investing in public health as an essential tool for confronting future crises and building more resilient societies.
In this context, Egypt comes as an inspiring model in the pursuit of achieving comprehensive health coverage, as the country has launched many pioneering health initiatives that seek to improve the quality of life for citizens and strengthen the health care system. To become more comprehensive and efficient. Through these initiatives, Egypt has placed health at the top of its development priorities, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to achieving a sustainable vision in the field of public health.
Egyptian health coverage
Egypt – under the auspices of the President of the Republic – launched a number of health initiatives, which changed the reality of health services in the country, by enhancing the quality of health care provided and expanding the scope of beneficiaries. These initiatives came within the framework of a clear vision to achieve universal health coverage and improve human health indicators in the long term.
Among the most prominent of these initiatives is “100 Million Health”, which was launched in 2018 to eliminate Hepatitis C and non-communicable diseases. This initiative provided screening and treatment services to approximately 60 million citizens, and contributed to declaring Egypt free of Hepatitis C by 2020, as the World Health Organization announced at the time.
In addition, the initiative for early detection of chronic diseases – such as kidney disease, maternal and fetal health – is one of the prominent efforts that has been reflected in improving the quality of life for citizens. The state also launched initiatives aimed at improving reproductive health and family planning. Among them: “Our days are better” and “The Thousand Golden Days.”
All of these efforts reflect Egypt’s deep belief in the importance of investing in human health as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development. Thanks to the continuity and sustainability of these initiatives, the state was able to achieve qualitative leaps in improving public health indicators. It has become a leading global model in achieving universal health coverage.
In conclusion, Earth Guards realize that, in general, there is an urgent need for global and local efforts to join forces to ensure universal health coverage by 2030. Which enhances human health and provides a brighter future for everyone.
