Egypt participates in a meeting of foreign ministers of the BRICS countries to discuss enhancing economic cooperation

From this standpoint, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, participated in the meeting of foreign ministers of the BRICS countries in New Delhi, within the framework of strengthening coordination between member states regarding regional and international issues of common concern.

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed in his speech the aspiration to continue strengthening economic cooperation among the BRICS countries, support the role of the New Development Bank, and push towards implementing joint projects in the sectors of energy, manufacturing, infrastructure and advanced technology, in a way that contributes to supporting sustainable economic growth and enhancing development opportunities based on cooperation and integration between countries.

He also discussed the initiatives put forward by Egypt within the framework of BRICS, including the establishment of a logistics center for grains in eastern Port Said to enhance food security, thus contributing to supporting industrial, commercial and investment cooperation among member states.
