100 health days…59 million free medical services that enhance health sustainability in Egypt
Egypt is witnessing a pioneering experience in the field of promoting public health through the “100 Health Days” initiative launched by the Ministry of Health and Population in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population.” In less than forty days, the initiative succeeded in providing more than 59 million free medical services to citizens, which is a huge number that reflects the size of the effort expended, and confirms the extent of the Egyptian determination to develop the health system and achievecomprehensive health coverage.
This is because we have become in a world where health and environmental challenges are increasing, and investment in public health has become an indispensable basis for achieving sustainable development. Access to fair and free health services is a human right, and it is a basic building block for building a society capable of facing future crises, from pandemics to climate change and its health impacts.
Record achievements that reflect a strategic vision
Since its launch on July 15, 2025, the “100 Days of Health” campaign has achieved remarkable numbers; In 39 days, it provided more than 59 million free medical services. These numbers bear clear indications of the scope of the campaign and its ability to reach wide categories of citizens in various governorates. What is striking is that the campaign was not limited to therapeutic services only, but included basic care, mental health, preventive medicine, and ambulance services, which reflects the comprehensiveness and depth of the vision.
This volume of achievements in a short period reveals the existence of careful planning and comprehensive mobilization of human and medical resources. The Ministry of Health was able to direct the efforts of 12 different sectors to work in harmony and integration, with each sector covering a specific aspect of services. This pattern of integrative work represents a role model for how to manage national initiatives, and confirms that public health can only be achieved through cooperation and coordination.

In light of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this achievement is directly consistent with Goal (3) concerned with “good health and well-being”, as providing this amount of free medical services contributes to improving the lives of millions of citizens, and reduces health disparities between different social groups.
Diversity of sectors and integration of roles
What distinguishes the “100 Days of Health” campaign is the participation of multiple sectors, as the basic care sector alone provided nearly 30,000 services, while therapeutic care services exceeded 172,000 services, and presidential public health initiatives contributed more than 44,000 services, which reflects the state’s keenness to link national initiatives together to achieve a multiplier effect.
Preventive medicine was also present across more than 6,000 services, at a time when the Corona pandemic proved that prevention is the first line of defense for any health system. The campaign also did not neglect the psychological aspect. The “Your Health is Happiness” initiative came to provide nearly 10,000 services in the field of mental health, in recognition that mental health is an essential part of comprehensive health.
The numbers show that health insurance hospitals, the secretariat of specialized medical centers, and the therapeutic institution played pivotal roles in providing tens of thousands of services, while the ambulance authority contributed thousands of emergency interventions that saved the lives of citizens in fateful moments. This integration between institutions clearly embodies the concept ofthe sustainable health system, where cooperation and balanced distribution of roles becomes a basic condition for ensuring the efficiency and continuity of the health service.

Building sustainable awareness
No health initiative is complete without an awareness dimension; Therefore, the “100 Health Days” initiative was not limited to providing therapeutic and diagnostic services, but also included major awareness efforts targeting more than 56 thousand citizens in clubs, commercial centers, and public areas. These efforts seek to change poor health behaviors and motivate citizens to adopt more sustainable, healthy lifestyles.
Health education is not just lectures or publications, but rather a long-term investment in the awareness of generations. Through interactive activities and seminars organized by community communication teams, the values of prevention are consolidated, the importance of early detection is reinforced, and a culture of reliance on healthy health patterns is instilled. These efforts are directly reflected in the long term in reducing the rates of chronic diseases and reducing the burden on the health system.

The “100 Healthy Days” initiative provides practical proof that investing in human health constitutes a solid foundation for building a cohesive society and a balanced development path. The impact goes beyond numbers and services to promoting a new awareness that places health at the heart of sustainable development, as an inherent right and a basic national resource. Therefore,FoundationEarth Guards appreciates these national efforts led by the Ministry of Health through an integrated model that combines citizen service and the future Egyptian vision concerned with achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in all sectors.
