In the next few days, the world will celebrate “International Women’s Day,” which falls on March 8 every year, during which the United Nations, UNICEF, and the entire world seek to shed light on the role of women in achieving the goals ofSustainable Development; It is an international day that the peoples of the world use to support strategies for empowering women everywhere, which makes it one of the steps to strengthen their rights – socially, economically and culturally – to ensure the implementation of the aspirations and hopes of all parts of society.

This year – the year 2024 – is the second year in a row, in which the Earth Guards participate in the celebration of International Women’s Day, by highlighting the achievements of prominent Egyptian and Arab women and pioneers – scientifically and practically – in their fields; Therefore, in the coming days, the magazine will accompany you through a journey – a series of articles on International Women’s Day – expressing honorable feminist models whose professional career has shone in the skies of Egypt and the Arab world, and this is through achievements that have inspired women of the whole world. So that empowering them will be a just way of life and a form of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As for the heroine of this article, she is Dr. Ayat Al-Haddad, professor of criminal law, and a prominent member ofthe Egyptian Parliament. She began her career in the most prestigious universities in Egypt and the Arab world, where she worked as a lecturer in the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science at the University of Alexandria, then she worked as an assistant professor of criminal law at the University of Business and Technology. In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Jeddah.

This scientific journey was a path and effort to practical achievements that were able to crystallize the theories of international law and their importance in supporting Egyptians abroad, as Dr. Ayat Al-Haddad published a number of legal books, on many topics, such as legal protection for Egyptians abroad. She also addressed in her academic research and scientific studies issues of terrorism and human rights from the perspective of international law.

But, how did Dr. Ayat Al-Haddad begin her professional and scientific career? I graduated from the Faculty of Law – English Section – in 2008. Then she obtained a diploma in criminal sciences in 2009, and a year later she obtained a master’s degree in public law. Her scientific efforts continued until she obtained, in 2015, a doctorate in criminal law on the subject of criminal protection for Egyptians and Egyptian interests abroad.

These skills and scientific achievements were a prelude to being in the most senior public positions. Dr. Ayat Al-Haddad became the legal advisor to the Misr Clearing, Deposit and Central Registration Company (m.c.d.r.), and she remained in this position for nearly ten years. She is also a member of the Arab Advisory Committee in the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, a delegate member of the United Nations Charter Commission, and a representative of the Arab Network of Universities, in addition to being the President of the Legal Culture Forum for Developing Awareness of the Law at the Culture and Arts Society in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Ayat Al-Haddad also has contributions and efforts at the regional level. She is a member of the African International Association of Refugee Law Judges (IARLJ), and has participated in numerous regional and international conferences.

As for her educational contributions and media appearances, we will find Al-Haddad – the legal mind – rich in her writings, which are published in prestigious magazines and newspapers in Egypt and abroad, especially national newspapers, where she writes a weekly newspaper column in Al-Ahram newspaper, and articles in the evening newspaper Al-Akhbar. This is in addition to her writings in Al-Hilal magazine, Alam Al-Kitab, and Rose Al-Youssef.

That journey in which Dr. Ayat Al-Haddad went to legal horizons and sustainable efforts, made her professional career and scientific life a role model and an inspiring model for all women in the world.
