Ministry of Social Solidarity…continuous activities to serve the community and empower the most vulnerable groups

In recent decades, sustainable development has become a main focus of the work of governments and state institutions, as it is the best way to achieve a balance between the requirements of the present and the rights of future generations. The role of the state is no longer limited to providing traditional services, but has expanded to include formulating comprehensive policies that take into account the social, economic and environmental dimensions together.

In this context, state institutions are responsible for translating national strategic visions into realistic practical programs, starting from supporting the most vulnerable groups, through empowering youth and women, and ending with promotingFinancial inclusion and digital transformation.

The Ministry of Social Solidarity is at the forefront of these institutions, as it embodies a practical model of how to transform public policies into tangible initiatives that make a direct impact on the lives of citizens. It not only provides social protection, but also works to empower vulnerable groups, support the community economy, and expand the scope of services in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

From this standpoint,The Earth Guards Foundationin this article seeks to confirm that the efforts of the Ministry of Social Solidarity are not separate measures, but rather an integrated national framework that responds to social and economic transformations; So keep reading.

Promoting the rights of persons with disabilities

Within the framework of promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, the Minister received a report from Mr. Khalil Muhammad, Head of the Central Administration for Persons with Disabilities Affairs, regarding the implementation of training workshops in cooperation with the Coptic Evangelical Authority.

The workshops dealt with effective communication skills, dealing with different personality types, in addition to enhancing social protection for women with disabilities, and discussing integration mechanisms between government agencies and civil society to provide services. The Ministry stressed that these trainings represent an investment in the human element, which reflects positively on the quality of services provided.

Gharbia Governorate also witnessed the launch of the trial run of the “Tamkeen” initiative, one of the strategic financial system initiatives, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor, and with the support of the Bank of Egypt. The initiative aimed to train women in a number of traditional professional crafts, such as:

  • Decoupage
  • Embroidery
  • Plumbing
  • Electricity

This is in addition to providing specialized medical convoys and banking services that support financial inclusion and digital transformation within villages. The initiative aims to cover 100 villages annually, with between 3,000 and 3,500 beneficiaries in each village, making it one of the basic pillars of empowering the most needy groups.

Efforts to support early childhood

In a qualitative step to support early childhood, Dr. Maya Morsi followed up on the comprehensive national inventory of nurseries nationwide, with the participation of 1,800 social pioneers and supervisors. The project aims to build an accurate national database using geographic information systems and digital transformation, in a way that enhances future planning to increase the number of nurseries and facilitate their work.

Steps for gender promotion

The Ministry also continues its efforts through the “Mawaddah” program, as the Minister follows up on intensive refresher training activities for the program’s trainers in Alexandria Governorate, in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ). The training targets 50 male and female trainers from 11 governorates, to enhance their skills in issues of reproductive health, family planning, and combating gender-based violence, thus contributing to building a more cohesive and family-respecting society.

Improving Boulak Social Services

On a field tour, the Minister of Social Solidarity inspected the Boulaq Social Administration after it was developed and transferred to the Maspero Towers, where she listened to the demands of the hesitant people and directed quickly to remove obstacles and improve services. The Ministry indicated that it worked to merge 149 social units and transfer 93 other units to more appropriate headquarters, bringing the total number of units to 2,506 units nationwide, which reflects the Ministry’s vision of improving its services to citizens.

A comprehensive vision for social development

These activities highlight that the Ministry of Social Solidarity works according to a comprehensive vision that focuses on empowering women, protecting vulnerable groups, supporting the community economy, and promoting financial inclusion, while investing in early childhood and the family. These are steps that reflect the state’s commitment to achieving social justice and sustainable development, and consolidating the principle that social protection is not just temporary assistance, but rather an essential pillar for building a cohesive society that keeps pace with changes.

In conclusion, what the Ministry of Social Solidarity is witnessing today reflects a qualitative shift in the philosophy of social protection, as it is no longer limited to subsidies or emergency interventions, but rather has become a comprehensive development tool that enhances community participation and opens new paths to empowering the most vulnerable groups.

SoThe Earth Guards Foundationdraws your attention to the fact that what is happening now in Egypt – the new republic – confirms that the sustainable path has already begun. In light of the growing international cooperation with the United Nations and development agencies, the Ministry of Social Solidarity – under the leadership of Dr. Maya Morsi – appears to be an Egyptian government institution that is moving confidently towards achieving a precise equation: protecting the most vulnerable groups and building a more comprehensive and just social economy.
