Earth Guards Community Partner of the UN Global Compact Annual Forum
Earth Guards spares no effort in supportingsustainable development, and raising awareness of issues in this field. It seeks to do this through partnerships capable of activating the principles and goals of sustainable development in Egypt and Africa.
Based on the role of Earth Guards in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it participates constructively in the annual forum of the United Nations Global Compact, under the title: “Pathways towards a Sustainable Africa.” It is a title that opens new horizons for sustainable development in Egypt and Africa, as it is an essential step towards greater Egyptian leadership in manufacturing and production locally and regionally, which has pushed strategies for achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) towards progress and obtaining tangible results on the ground.
These Egyptian steps were nothing but a deepening of its pioneering role at the regional level, as it seeks with sincere effort to bring African countries closer to implementing all means of sustainability in all their sectors. Among these Egyptian efforts are climate and environment forums, as well as conferences that discuss the most important sustainable development issues in Africa – specifically – and the whole world.
For the above, Egypt has an appointment – from 20 to 21 May – with the Round Table for Sustainable Societies at the annual forum of the United Nations Global Compact in Egypt.
Sustainable Finance
What are the challenges that the financial system may face, and how can they be overcome? This is what the forum will answer; To identify the role of sustainable finance in supporting private and public sector strategies regarding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and ways to achieve them locally and regionally.
This is because sustainable finance is the cornerstone of achieving a better future, and it is one of the paths towards a sustainable Africa, in addition to the paths of industrialization and production. Sustainable financing is also capable of correcting the course, and can help developing countries in Africa direct investments that work to achieve a balance between environmental and development requirements and investment objectives, by stimulating the private sector to pay attention to green energy fields.

Africa’s Sustainable Cities
Sustainable cities and ways to promote them among all African countries remain a main goal of this important forum – the annual forum of the United Nations Global Compact in Egypt – especially since it is a fundamental goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For this goal – and other development goals – the Earth Guards will participate with an elite group of senior officials in Egypt and Africa, and a number of experts concerned with sustainable development. Among them are Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, “Minister of Planning and Economic Development,” and Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, “the United Nations Special Envoy for Financing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, and the climate pioneer for the Egyptian Presidency of the Conference of the Parties (COP) COP27,” in addition to a number of institutions that will participate in the forum sessions.
Earth Guards Magazine and its partners in this promising forum seek to increase awareness of sustainable development issues, shed light on the steps to implement it on the ground, and identify the most important challenges in this field; For a sustainable Africa, and towards more industrialization and production; In order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
