In conjunction with World Health Day, the Healthcare Authority reviews efforts to develop medical personnel
In conjunction withWorld Health DayInternational discussions are renewed on the close relationship between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting human health. Achieving world-class medical services has become linked to the ability of health systems to build qualified human cadres capable of keeping pace with rapid scientific developments.
In this context, the development of medical training and continuing vocational education highlights the basic path to achieving the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): good health. Because investing in the qualification of doctors and medical teams contributes significantly to raising the efficiency of health services, improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment, and enhancing the ability of health systems to respond to changing health challenges.
Hence, training medical personnel becomes one of the pillars of the transformation towards a more sustainable and efficient health system, ensuring a balance between scientific progress and public health requirements, and enhancing access to safe and fair health services for all citizens.
World Health Day is an international occasion to renew the global commitment to promoting human health. The World Health Organization leads this event annually with the aim of highlighting major health challenges and strengthening international cooperation to confront them.
In the year 2026, the celebration of World Health Day will come under the slogan “Together for Health… Support Science,” a clear indication that scientific progress and knowledge exchange represent the cornerstone of building health systems that are more capable of responding to crises and more efficient in providing sustainable health care.
From this standpoint, the General Health Care Authority – headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki – reviewed its efforts in developing medical personnel and strengthening the continuing medical education system, as they are two basic pillars for supporting the comprehensive health insurance system and improving the level of health services provided to citizens.
Medical personnel are the pillar of health care
The Authority also confirmed that its strategy in supporting the health sector is based on investing in the human element through the expansion of training and continuing medical education programs, which contributes to improving the quality of health services and promoting public health concepts.
In this same context, the General Authority for Health Care reported its success in implementing nearly 90,000 training programs inside and outside Egypt, aiming to raise the efficiency of medical and administrative staff, and develop clinical skills in accordance with the latest international standards.
The role of these training programs is to transfer modern scientific expertise and develop the professional capabilities of workers in the health sector, which is directly reflected in improving the quality of health care provided to patients, and enhancing the health system’s ability to keep pace with rapid scientific developments in the fields of diagnosis, treatment and health services management.
Linking training to clinical practice
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the General Authority for Health Care, explained that the Authority adopts a proactive approach based on linking the outcomes of education and training to actual clinical practice within health facilities, ensuring that scientific knowledge is used in a practical way to improve the quality of health services.
Then, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki pointed out that this trend enhances the concepts of public health and increases the efficiency of dealing with various health challenges, stressing that investing in building human competencies is one of the most important axes of institutional excellence within the authority, and a basic pillar for supporting the goals of comprehensive health coverage, in addition to its role in achieving “Egypt Vision 2030,” which calls for building a modern and sustainable health system.
Keeping up with scientific developments
The head of the General Authority for Health Care explained that celebrating World Health Day 2026 is an important opportunity to renew the commitment to strengthening the role of science in developing the health sector, noting that the authority is working to translate this year’s slogan into practical steps by expanding training and continuing medical education programs, and building cadres capable of dealing with changing health challenges and keeping pace with international scientific developments.
So, the efforts of the General Authority for Health Care to develop medical personnel reveal a strategic shift in health sector management, as investment in infrastructure and services is no longer sufficient without parallel investment in human knowledge and skills. As medical innovation accelerates around the world, the ability to update the skills of doctors and health sector workers becomes a critical element that ensures the sustainability of the quality of health care.
Therefore,The Earth Guards Foundationsees such sustainable steps as a form of strengthening the status of the Egyptian health experience within advanced health models at the regional level. In order to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 3: Good health and well-being.
