Partnerships between the World Bank and Solidarity

There, the Minister welcomed the delegation, praising the extended partnership between the Ministry and the World Bank in social protection programs, most notably the “Solidarity and Dignity” cash support program, which has completed its tenth year since its establishment, stressing that social protection has become a constitutional right after the issuance of Social Security Law No. (12) of 2025, which consolidates the state’s obligations within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Social Protection
The Minister of Social Solidarity indicated that Egypt launched a high-level international platform initiative for social protection, in coordination with the World Bank; To be a global forum for exchanging experiencesSuccessful, and reviewing new strategies among decision makers, experts and international organizations.
Economic Empowerment
Dr. Maya Morsi also explained that the Ministry has been adopting a strategic financial system for economic empowerment for six months, which includes ministries, banks and national institutions, with the aim of moving from traditional cash support to more sustainable models, by integrating beneficiary families into savings and investment activities, micro-insurance and innovative financing services.
Handcrafts
In the same context, the Minister drew attention to the Ministry’s support for handicrafts and heritage through the “Diyarna” exhibitions, which numbered 36 last year with the participation of more than 1,376 exhibitors, confirming the imminent opening of a permanent crafts exhibition.
For his part, the Executive Director of Egypt at the World Bank Group congratulated Dr. Maya Morsi on the passage of a full decade in the life of the “Solidarity and Dignity” program, considering it a model to be emulated in international cooperation, stressing the Bank’s continued support for the development of social protection programs.

Meeting of the Judicial Control Committee
The Minister of Solidarity also chaired the meeting of the Ministry’s Judicial Control Committee, as one of the mechanisms for monitoring social care institutions, alternative families, people with disabilities, and the elderly. The committee includes 135 judicial officers by decision of the Minister of Justice. In order to follow up on the implementation of laws regulating the rights of children, people with disabilities, and the elderly.
In this meeting, the outcome of the work of law enforcement officers since 2016 was reviewed, amounting to 5,187 visits and 235Control reports, including 695 visits and 46 reports during the last year. The meeting also discussed the expansion of granting judicial control to new areas, such as civil work, social security, and elderly care.

Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi Educational Scholarship
In implementation of what was agreed upon at the Nasser Bank BoardSocial Cairo witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministries of Higher Education and Social Solidarity regarding the “Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi Educational Scholarship,” provided by the Nasser Social Bank.
Therefore, Dr. Ayman Ashour, “Minister of Higher Education,” confirmed that the protocol reflects the state’s support for investment in human capital, pointing to the expansion of university scholarships for outstanding students.
For her part, Dr. Maya Morsi explained that the scholarship targets 400 students in the sectors of health sciences, engineering, arts and humanities, with a percentage allocated to children of “Solidarity and Dignity” and children of care homes. She also stressed the bank’s commitment to paying expenses until graduation, considering that education is one of the pillars of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Follow up on supporting housing projectsAlternative
On the other hand, the Minister of Solidarity held a meeting to follow up on efforts to support the people of alternative housing projects for slum areas, where 5,109 housing units were furnished and furnished in various projects, with the aim of equipping 1,863 new units during the year.
The meeting also reviewed the community activities implemented by the Ministry, such as medical convoys, food campaigns, and preparations for launching the “Stay Support” campaign to support primary school students, through a comprehensive medical examination, and the provision of glasses and school tools.
Humanitarian event to support Gaza
In a humanitarian way that expresses Egypt’s pioneering role in the humanitarian response to all peoples, the Minister of Solidarity participated in an event organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Social Solidarity under the title “Egypt’s Response to the Humanitarian Disaster: Together to Keep Gaza”Alive”, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, and representatives of some international organizations.
Concerning this, the Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Egypt provided 70% of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and continued to support efforts to bring it in despite the obstacles. For her part, the Minister of Social Solidarity stressed that Egyptian support for Gaza has been constant for decades, and that the Egyptian Red Crescent – with the efforts of 35,000 volunteers – represents the national mechanism for implementing aid, noting that the volume of support – since October 2023 – has reached more than 570. One thousand tons.
