Achievements of the 100 Days of Health Initiative
Since the launch of its first edition in 2022, the 100 Days of Health initiative represented a strategic step towards building an effective and comprehensive primary care system. In the third edition, the initiative consolidated this approach by covering all governorates of the Republic and expanding the scope of services provided, as Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, announced that the campaign in its third edition succeeded in providing more than 5 million health services, and these services included medical examinations, mobile clinics, and health care services. Medicines, tests, x-rays, and specialized consultations.

The initiative’s services included health awareness, early detection of tumors, integrated care for women’s health, in addition to initiatives for maternal and fetal care, and free medical screening for chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes, within an integrated field system that ensures early diagnosis, referral for treatment, and the provision of free medical support.
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, explained that the 100 Days of Health campaign provided more than 147,000 services through the therapeutic care sector, in addition to about 53,000 other services within the presidential public health initiatives, and the preventive medicine sector also contributed to providing more than 6,000 services during the campaign period.

The minister pointed out that the units affiliated with the General Authority for Hospitals and Educational Institutes provided about 19,000 services, while the mental health support initiative “Your Health is Happiness” provided nearly 2,800 specialized services, and the hospitals of the General Authority for Health Insurance provided more than 7,000 medical services.
The minister pointed out that the Egyptian Ambulance Authority dealt with more than 4,000 emergency cases, while the hospitals of the Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers provided approximately 48,000 various services. 576 surgical operations were also carried out within the waiting lists initiative, in addition to providing more than 5,000 services through the Foundation’s treatment hospitals.
A comprehensive system based on awareness and proactiveness
These numbers reflect the state’s new orientation towards building a health system based on preventive care and early detection as essential tools for improving the quality of life and reducing the burden of chronic diseases, which are among the most prominent causes of death in Egypt and the world. The initiative also represents part of the national efforts to contain the gap between health services in cities and rural areas.
Official data showed that more than 51 thousand citizens benefited from awareness services in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, as part of expanded activities aimed at raising community awareness of reproductive health and encouraging preventive behaviours, thus contributing to reducing neonatal mortality rates and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to good health and equality.

In conclusion, theThe Earth Guards Foundation confirms that the 100 Days of Health initiative in its third edition is a practical model of how to activate the concept of health as a basic citizen’s right, and an embodiment of a qualitative shift in the priorities of national health policies towards prevention and anticipation, rather than waiting and treatment. The initiative has demonstrated Egypt’s ability to manage its human and medical resources in an organized manner. It is widespread and has shown that integration between government and community efforts can achieve a tangible impact in the lives of millions, especially in the countryside and border areas.
This experience constitutes an open call to consolidate this model as a first line of defense in confronting health challenges, and a platform for building community health awareness that consolidates preventive behavior and restores trust between the citizen and the health service provider. The future of health in Egypt begins in the field, where efforts meet and real differences are made.
