Ain Shams University Awards Honorary Doctorate to Economist Mahmoud Mohieldin for Economic Contributions
In honor of his economic efforts.. Ain Shams University awards the economist Mahmoud Mohieldin an honorary doctorate
Ain Shams University opened the eleventh scientific conference, headed by Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini, “President of the University,” in which the university awarded Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin, “the global economic expert,”an honorary doctorate degree, where the conference proceedings took place in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, “Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs,” in addition to Members of the Council of Ain Shams University, and a number of former ministers and public figures.
The ceremony included a documentary film that was shown to the participants to introduce the professional life of Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin. Then the President of Ain Shams University stressed in his speech the extent of Egypt’s pride.With its children who honor it and make its name ring loudly in regional and international forums. Then he referred to the biography of Dr. Mahmoud Mohieddin, which made him a worthy source of pride. Because of his extensive economic experience, which extends to thirty years, he has become an honorable figure and a role model for the community of researchers in all fields.
In the same context, Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini – President of Ain Shams University – praised the efforts of Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin in all the positions assigned to him, including: the position of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General at the United Nations, to finance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the position of Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund. International, and the climate pioneer for the Egyptian presidency at the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Climate Change Convention Cop-27, in addition to being the first Egyptian and Arab to become director of the World Bank, as well asHe assumed responsibility for the Ministry of Investment between 2004 – 2010.
Regarding the honorary doctorate degree, El-Metiny stated that Ain Shams University has granted a number of distinguished figures this high academic degree, and this is the fifth time in the university’s ancient history.
In conclusion, Professor Dr. Mahmoud Mohi El-Din extended his sincere thanks to the President of Ain Shams University – Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Metini – expressing his deep appreciation for this honorable honour. He also singled out Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, “Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs,” before confirming his appreciation for the prestigious Ain Shams University, which It was established in 1950, until it became a university with leadership and excellence in the fields of arts, literature and science.
